Yes. HDMI doesn’t provide any power, you still need a power source, i.e. Battery

It seems like 1080 resolution would result in cropped display on the screen. 4K resolution would fill the screen entirely without any crop. Such a bummer. Reviewing photos and videos would fill the screen, but the Live View would be super cropped.

Correct. It’s not terrible though as the display is still big enough for you to see what you’re doing, and way better than using the on camera display

Hi again, one more question please? Might you have a recommendation for a 12 volt cable connecting to a USB-C or USB-A port on an external battery pack? I was checking out various 12 volt cables on Amazon and found it confusing for all the many sizes available. I also wasn't sure if this will work due to 5 volts versus 12 volts specified on various cables. I am currently able to use a USB-C cable into the USB-C DC port to power the monitor, but I also want to try a 12 volt cable as well. Thanks!
@TrendingReviews
@TrendingReviews 3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate - Just so I get it right, you mean you want to connect a Powerbank that has a USB-C/A port, and use this to power the Feelworld device, rather than a RAVPower battery attached directly to the Monitor - is that correct?
@caseyonlocation8257
@caseyonlocation8257 3 жыл бұрын
@@TrendingReviews Howdy. Yes, correct. I currently already am able to power the FeelWorld monitor using an external Anker 20,000 mAh battery pack using a USB-C to USB-A cable, so that works well. I'm curious to also try powering the monitor via the 12 volt port with some type of cable connected to the Anker battery. I'm not trying to power together at same time via 12 volt port and USB-C port. I just want to figure out how to power the monitor via the 12 volt port but I'm confused trying to find the correct 12 volt cable with the other end going to either USB-C or USB-A. On Amazon there is a perplexing variety of different 12 volt cables. Might you have a link you can provide for the correct 12 volt cable that will work for above scenario?

Why is my f5 monitor displaying my image cropped and not full screen? Is it because I’m shooting in 4K? Or can I change it?
@TrendingReviews

I noticed that it gets full screen when I switch to 1080p instead of 4k, but that shouldn't be the case since its a 4k monitor. There could be something in your settings of your monitor or your camera that changes output to full screen

I have 2 problems with this; I am confused what I need to buy for power. The HDMI cable, does not connect to my Nikon D5300, the mini HDMI cable end does not fit in my camera port, the port is too small. I don't want to use the dummy battery, that would make it easy to snap the battery cover. I have a cable mini HDMI on both ends, my Nikon D5300 does have that mort, would that work? TIA

Thanks for your video, thumbs up! I'm puzzled about one thing if you might have an answer. My new FeelWorld F5 5.5" 4K monitor has a "volume" control. But I hear no sound coming out of the monitor when I play back a video. I only hear sound coming out from the camcorder external speaker, nothing from the monitor. I made sure to unplug any cables from the camera's mic-in port and headphone-in port, but still no sound coming out of the monitor. This should be a simple no brainer thing. Any clues?
@TrendingReviews
@TrendingReviews 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Casey - thanks for the comment and feedback! Oh, yours has a Volume control? Mine doesn't - Are you sure they sent you the F5 model, because the F5's for sure are not specced to have in-built speakers. As far as I'm aware, only the FW279 series only have in-built speakers.
@caseyonlocation8257
@caseyonlocation8257 3 жыл бұрын
@@TrendingReviews Thanks @Trending Reviews for your reply, much appreciated! I was mistaken. I assumed the monitor has a built-in speaker because it has volume control. In fact, it only has a 3.5mm AUX port at the bottom that can be used to hear sound with headphones. I didn't notice the 3.5mm AUX port because the included L bracket mount is obstructing the view and access for both the 3.5mm AUX port and the USB-C DC power port. The 3.5mm AUX port does in fact work for sound when plugged into with wired headphones. The one thing that annoys me the most is that the USB-C DC power port is also blocked by the included L bracket when attaching the monitor to the L swivel bracket on a camera hotshoe. I think this is a poor design on FeelWorld's part, otherwise I'm liking the F5 5.5" touch screen monitor quite a bit. I ended up ordering a right angle USB-C cable that will hopefully work while using the supplied L bracket with the monitor on top of my Canon Vixia G60 camcorder's front "cold"-shoe. I want to use that USB-C port for powering the monitor with an external rechargeable USB power pack, such as a 20,000 mAh battery pack. I tested this and it works great, versus using my Sony batteries that will die in a couple/few hours. Do you ever use the USB-C port for external power? Or do you use the 12 volt port? Or simply use rechargeable Sony (or Canon?) batteries? Here's the right angle USB-C cable I ordered, hopefully this short 1.5" cable will fit into into the USB-C port while attached to the L bracket, link here: amzn.to/3kWjB1q AND here's the Anker 20,000 mAh rechargeable battery pack I'm using: amzn.to/371Guvp

You can use the same battery pack for the monitor as I've mentioned, irrespective of what camera you have. However, you will need to get the dummy battery specific to your camera, so for your case, a Canon one. And to have this setup work, yes, you will need both of those things. Hope that helps!
