Nice to see a horse relaxed, not trained under force or with rollkur. You can actually see the horse move it's weight to the back to carry itself for piaffe and passage. Use it's hind legs through the test. Such a rare sight now these days. Amazing, bravo!!

That's true. Did you hear that the FEI just removed everything about not riding the horse with it's nasal plane behind the vertical from the rules this year? It's been scientifically researched and proven that being ridden behind the vertical causes pain and degeneration of bony and soft tissue. It's been a clear guideline in all dressage to not ride a horse behind the vertical, but now the FEI just thinks it's ok. Bizarre.

@@Lunar-Echo My mistake, sort of, in not communicating I have seen this behavior when horses are concentrating on movement and keeping centered. Your mistake in assuming discomfort. These aren't tortured rodeo horses. Here is a list of common reasons why a horse may swish its tail: to swat at flies or other pests to communicate discomfort or frustration to let someone know they are annoyed as a sign of concentration on a specific task as a sign of contentment to restore balance during a certain activity
@Lunar-Echo
@Lunar-Echo Жыл бұрын
@@trex3003 I never said anything about rodeo horses and I never said discomfort was the only reason they flick their tails, they were literally evolved for swatting flies. I was saying it is fairly unlikely that the horse is truly happy, doing all these movements is not what a horse was made for. If it is so happy doing these things then why is a double bridle necessary, if it loves doing these things why would the rider need so much control? I’m not saying the horse is abused or tortured but if you need all that equipment for one horse then you might need to reevaluate your training methods and the system that requires the unnecessary tools.

@@Lunar-Echo give it a rest! I’d say both rider and horse were in sync and beautiful. The horse knows it’s beautiful and happy about that. Does everything have to be negative?
@Lunar-Echo
@Lunar-Echo Жыл бұрын
@@lorettanericcio-bohlman567 I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable but it’s not negative it’s realistic. Real dressage is supposed to be the fundamentals of riding when done properly but now most judges are just looking for the most exaggerated movements and not how fluid, soft, and comfortable both horse and rider is. To be honest I don’t care if I seem negative I just think that someone needs to say what goes on behind the scenes. I ridden and worked with horses for my whole life and have seen the good, bad, and horrid of the industry and it can be absolutely awe inducing when done and executed probably, but sadly most people don’t want to put in the extra work into having a true, two way communication with their horse. They want to take the shortcut of just telling the horse in a one sided conversation and most horses are too good hearted to do anything about it.

@@Kat-mu8wq i know they practiced it, thats the point. It was perfect and only highly trained horse could perform it. I don't understand your comment

Poor horse . This is not natural behaviour for such a beautiful animal . I bet his flanks hurt after all that continuous prodding . 😢

This is nicely done, but I have yet to see any horse perform to the standard set by Blu Hors Matine several years ago (2006). Amazing! RIP, Matine.

Blu Hors Matine was trained likely under Rollkur, which many consider extreme abuse. This horse was not. This horse is happier.
