As an equestrian and a has been rave gurl I loved this! I still work in the medical tent at various raves (EDC Las Vegas, Electric Forest) and after this ride posted , I showed the video to several of my patients on a bad trip. They just needed a safe place to come down. They all loved it and felt better. Strange yes, but very cool to find a little way to make these folks smile and enjoying themselves. Soon the tent filled with 60ish patients were watching the video. I don’t know if the team realized this ride would introduce so many people to Dressage. Even Snoop Dog was impressed.

Steffan Peters is one of the greatest horsemen alive, still at the very top of his game after decades in the saddle. Such a genuine man who always seeks the best for his horses. This performance was a true delight to watch, a real testament to the connection he shares with his amazing horse, and seeing that huge smile at the end was very heartwarming. I am such a fan.
@drbkap311 күн бұрын
He didn’t do well this summer in Paris and of course people were talking. He posted a video expressing his disappointment that he did poorly, and taking responsibility, but then he got teary and said he wouldn’t tolerate anyone criticizing “Mopsie” bc “he’ll always be my rave horse and he’ll always be my best friend.” It was incredibly touching. I met him once at the equine affaire. He was lovely, just standing there like a regular person! 😮

10/10. Could go into all the nerdy reasons why this rider and horse are great, but I'll keep it short. Horse is relaxed and as comfortable as he can be while doing something so difficult. Rider is nice on the reins and even gives the horse a break with loose reins halfway through. Both move wonderful and smooth, and signs are almost imperceptible. No overuse of spurs. Tells the horse he did a good job at the end with a pat and letting off reins. Horse clearly enjoys his job as he dances out on a fairly loose one-handed rein while keeping himself collected mostly on his own. Not a big fan of bits but know they are required in some sports/situations, so no hate there. Great performance.

@redwards34572 ай бұрын
@@Khrimsun - Actually, I do have better things to do , but unfortunately animal abuse continues to exist in many forms, and has been going on for so long that many people , like yourself, just accept this animal abuse as being ok, and it's not. It sounds like you're feeling a little shame because you probably participate in this type of animal abuse, and you don't like being called out about it because you're one of those people that like to pretend that it makes the animal "happy" to be beaten and whipped until it does tricks for your entertainment. You say it looks "relaxed" , and I see an poor animal that has learned not to fight against what the human wants it to do OR ELSE. You keep burying your head in the sand though , if it makes you feel ok about it. I mean, I wouldn't want YOU to suffer over it, suffering should just be for animals , right?

I do love it if I was not so concerned where big competition is going? What happened to quality halt and being straight? Just silly questions. Why in the 80's did we do square halts and keep our horses on the vertical regardless of move (not a good description of question)? Why did we in the past think a piroutte needed to be centered with the rearend? Industry. Love the animals!

Having just watched a video of Charlotte Fry and Everdale winning for their horrendous freestyle at this year’s World Cup, this video was a breath of fresh air! You want to see behind the bit/behind the vertical, watch Charlotte having poor Everdale’s muzzle cranked in to his chest so tightly I’m surprised the animal could breathe! Not to mention the blue tongue seen as Everdale opened and closed his mouth in obvious pain from both the pressure in his mouth, and the hyperflexion of his neck! NO CLUE how that horse could breathe. As soon as the routine was over, Everdale looked SO relieved to be able to stretch out his neck and walk normally out of the arena. Drastic comparison to this horse, who is still jazzed up and is carrying his own head and neck as he pleases with a loose single handed hold of the reins. I thought this routine was lovely and that the horse looked as if he was enjoying himself. I can absolutely NOT say the same about poor Everdale. Watching THAT freestyle made me physically ill!

Not at all the women are great dressage riders. And they deserve to win. They are incredibly accurate. It's just a case of more begets more and guy dressage and jumper riders (like college campuses here in the US) have abandoned the barns. At least college campuses are 60/40 female to male. Dressage, hunters and jumpers have just become overwhelmingly female 20 females to 1 guy. There is no comradery in the sport for boys in the formative years anymore. They are all on dirtbikes or surfboards. I just miss the good old days, that's all. And truth be told I am sure girls today would love to have some "Yang" banging around the barn.

Q: Why do they play music during dressage? A: Because you don't want to hear the horse making chocking, snorting, drastically heavy constrained breathing sounds during their pretty dance, do you? Pay attention at the start as the horse is being moved into position. You can hear it struggling to catch a proper, non-choking on itself breath.
