Once you find the first portal in a ring, you pretty much know exactly where the others are, because they're all angularly spaced evenly about 0 0. Though the radius within the band may differ +- about 1000 blocks. But for example the first ring has 3 portals that are 120* apart, the second has 6 portals space 60* apart, and so on

His luck with blaze rods and ender pearl trades WHILE BEING ON HIS ODDS is 1 in 7.5 trillion, while if all the negative odds are not accounted, it goes up to the sextillion mark (check standupmaths' video for that). "Dreaming" then means to get a lot or to get insane luck.
