Feiyu updated their firmware so now it supports a locked mode without needing to hold down the trigger, they also added support for a panasonic shutter cable. I bought mine here bit.ly/2kzvGg0 Clicking the shutter button will focus and release the shutter all in one click, so you can't do them in separate actions.

I am more interested in the focussing control for Panasonic GH camera's. The reason why 1 handed gimbals did hold me off buying is the vertical movement you see more with 1 handed gimbals it seems than 2 handed gimbals. I own a DJI Ronin myself but I am looking for a lighter gimbal as well (the DJI Ronin is great but very heavy, which also helps against vertical movement while walking, but it's too bulky sometimes).

Great video, David. I'm happy to hear about the Panasonic update. Does it control Start/Stop in video mode? Also, would you consider doing a video about updating the firmware?

I bought one of these in Jan 2019. Today was the first time I ever used the dual handle. I now have some gear that I can attach to the handles ... an external audio recorder and shotgun mic and a larger monitor. It works good and gives me another shooting option. I always use the same camera and lens set so balancing wasn't an issue. I did set it up with an arca swiss style quick release, It's been used a lot and still works ok. I probably still would have bought it, if I had seen your review when it first came out. I got the single handle price and the store threw in the full kit for all the same price. Was a very good deal.

I've got this one and the SPG FT gimbals. The ergonomics aren't an issue for me. The BIG NEGATIVE, is no lock mode control other than the trigger. If I want to use the gimbal in lock mode on a monopod, its impossible without using the app. That is very inconvenient if you are a 1-man crew. Very good and thorough review. Keep up the good work.

I found your channel and subscribed. Dig it. The gimbal and the tech inside makes this a must have for smaller cameras. Between this one and the Moza Air, you would have all of your gimbal bases covered. I love the Moza, specifically for the weight/payload and simplicity. I also have budget constraints.

Wish they had put a port to power your camera like Smooth-Q...other than that...greateat unit. By far the best demo video I have seen. Straight to the point and everything is covered. I've sent this link to my clients...I don't do that lightly. Glad to hear they updated LOCK mode. Nice job dude...yes I'm from Southern Cali...film on.

I know this video is 4 years old, and I not sure if someone else found this out but if you Press the Mode button once it locks the orientation (kind of like using the trigger button) and you can unlock it by pressing the Mode button again

Would you recommend this for 180€? I'm looking into buying one of these: G6 Max, AK2000, A2000. The A2000 really looks promising for the price (about the same as for the others). I want to pair it with a Sony A6400.

Sir, so to just follows the lock mode whill walking, or perhaps call it pan follow mode, the trigger mode most then constantly hold with the finger? I'm searching an modular short constructed as the gimbal you presented on the handlebar. Meaning I will added the gimbal to the selfmade rigg. Therefor the hight of the gimball is importent an dmost be short so it can added comfortable on the rigg, in case there most constantly holding the finger on the joystick button to follow the object, that is really to avoid. Any idea for an other something equal? Note, my camcorder weight 300 gram, is really difficult to find an compatible Gimbal. The camera is: Panasonic HDC-SD90 but I look to order soon the RX100 M7 from Sony. This cam is also light, 500 gram. Thanks for the attention.
@japrogsch7 жыл бұрын
You say the only way to enable the locked mode is by holding down the trigger button. But you can also press the mode button quickly four times to toggle it on. I agree with the other critique points. What I found helps with the stickiness of the roll axis balance adjustment is to put some "upwards force" on that part of the arm to counter the weight of the camera since otherwise the rather large leverage of the cameras weight on that dovetail still produces a lot of friction.
@HelloDavid7 жыл бұрын
I thought pressing the mode button four times puts it into timelaspe mode. So it doesn't do exactly what I need out of a locked mode, and the joystick doesn't work in the mode either. Yeah thanks for the tip on the arm.
@sunyayyy7 жыл бұрын
So pressing it four times puts it into lock mode actually? Since I actually saw the manual saying that four times is for autorotation / i.e., timelapse mode...

There are two kits, single and dual handle, you can use generic dual handle but you won't have any controls, maybe with phone app but there are no single screen for all functions so there is little use ... so you have to pay extra 200$ for handles.

I was about to buy this gimbal, but then I read a comment saying it doesn't work with a Canon 1DX because the camera is too high. So I guess it wouldn't work with mine either, as it is a Sony Z90 camcorder, which is only 1.3Kg but almost 20cm long from lens to eyecup. :/ Has anyone tried this gimbal with a handycam?

Typical Feiyu product. Seems really good at face value, then the more you use it, the more annoyances you find. Constantly questioning some of the design decisions they made in key areas. Also their customer support is pretty bad, and firmware updates are a joke. I always look for alternatives when I see a new Feiyu gimbal on the market.
