Hey RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7, I bought the same one for my 5yr old sons birthday and the drive power shuts off when landing from small jumps or when climbing slowly over obstacles and I have to cycle the on/off switch. Any thoughts on this?

So i've seen there are many different versions of this car down to the wl toys brushed version. people with the burshed version are running 3s batteries with a low C value. Is that still doable on the brushless version with the different ESC or are you forced into sticking to 2s with a normal or high C value? 3S low C brushed is perhaps faster than 2s high C brushless in this car?

I bought one because of this video. Figured if your son smashing into giant tree roots and tumbling down stairs couldn’t break it, it would be tough enough for me. I did change to some oil filled shocks and it made it much easier to drive. So thank you both for helping me decide.

Looks just like the Twin Hammers from Vaterra/Horizon. Same diffs, suspension (hammer had better shocks). There are a ton of aftermarket parts for that from several manufacturers. Diff lockers, Aluminum upgrades like those rear trailing arms, chassis upgrades, a real 2 speed transmission, metal gears, so much more. They make great crawlers and trail bashers and can use 1/10 scale brushless systems to get some crazy speed too. There are also battery relocation kits to allow full size lipos to be used. GCM Racing in Canada makes a front shock conversion that changes them to upright, traditional style and also makes the front hood or bonnet tilt up. This allows the battery to go up front for better weight distribution and much better climbing abilities. Vaterra has discontinued the model but there are loads left on Ebay and parts are still carried by Horizon for stock replacements, including the 2 speed transmission. Hot racing, GCM, GMP and many more carry upgrades. Including Vanquish. I think if you invest a little time and money into that you'll be really happy with it.

@@colbyturbeville2946 yes there are. When I made the original reply/comment I had it in my head that the WL Toys version is offered in 1/12 and 1/10. And that one would really benefit from the vaterra factory and upgrade parts. I do like this version better than the wl version for out of the box looks and features.

Yes the wltoys 10428 is 1/10 so yeah there are a lot of upgrades for it unfortunately I got the 12428 and it’s absolute garbage got it bout a month ago I’ve replaced esc servo and motor already and 2 drive shafts and no I’ve not drove it for over 10 minutes without something breaking sad ain’t it lol so I’ve orders this and I’m hoping it’ll be a lot better and not a money robber do you own the feiyue fyo3h if so what’s are some of its weaknesses

This car comes in red aluminum also. You can get it with all metal parts or buy them separately to rebuild yours. You can get it with a water proof brushless motor and ESC. Either way you have many options to choose from.

They are interchangeable on bangood when you look up upgrades for the wltoys the parts all say feiyue and wltoys, and I have a hbx transit and I think a lot of the parts are the same on that as well.

Brushed will wear out faster, better for low speed crawling type controlled runs. Brushless gives you more speed, no brushes to wear out and stays cooler than the equivalent.

I just pick up a hbx transit kinda exactly like this one the parts can be used on either, I have a 16th scale brushless set-up I was thinking of putting in it since it has metal diffs and dogbones.

I´m thinking of getting one of those. Is the differential in the rear axial locked or open? And how are the shocks? They seem to be the first thing that will break. But I sure like the looks of it and that is something between a crawler and a buggy.

@@RCTanksTrucks247 sorry about the caps, i just had to get your attention since it was posted awhile back, but trust me its a good crawler, i have both li-ion and lipos- i use li-ion on 50-50 with children model then i switch to 70/30 and lipo battery for controllable speed, different batteries different power levels for different terrains, once you break in the “stiff” rear shocks, its softer and handles better but plz trust me, REMOVE THE REAR TIRE, And the car will drive amazing

I bought one and right out of the box it has no reverse. It will go in reverse if I try about 15 times, then it doesn't want to go forward until I try a few times. I contacted Banggood. com and they took 400 forevers to respond and then they finally asked me to see if I could get it repaired locally. Really? Oh well, off to a local hobby store where I purchased a really nice buggy that works like it should. For anyone reading this, if yours works you will spend more time flipping it back on its wheels than you will driving it. Its too small and rolls over incredibly easy, and if anything goes wrong good luck finding parts or someone that can repair. Also if you plan on driving this indoors it needs 800 miles to turn around. The turning radius is horrible on this! I personally regret buying it mostly because I can't find a place to fix it. Brand new and needs repair. :( Somebody buy me a 1/5 Scale Raminator Monster Truck RTR lol

You can get all the aluminum parts for this on eBay search wltoys 12842 it's all interchangeable

No it;s NOT....The 12842 is wider. The differental are DIFFERENT. The Fy03 has 4-ea spyders...All metal. The wltoys has 3-ea plastic The cups/bevel gears are different...The gear PITCH are different. The only thing that's interchangeable are the wheels and hex... The damn hex pins probably arnt even the same size. The reason the use the out runnner is mostly so the factory can use the same PINON set. it's either a 2212 or 2218 has the same SHAFT size as a 390 brushed motor. The wltoys has a 550 brushed which has a different shaft size.....Even the gears from my 1/12 HBX/redcat or Subotech wont work in the Fy-03. The gear pitch are finer...IDK...it;s NOT 48 pitch. Those trucks are about the same as a Traxxass to the Losi.lmao There's plenty of parts avalible for the Fy03..but DUNNNN buy 12842 for them. Ive converted plenty of fy03 to brushless using 2845 3100 or 3300 kv. 60A 3s 40c It has the same can size as the 390 brush so it'll mount on the stock motor mount..but the SHAFT size is bigger. You'll have to ream the shaft hole using the extra pinons that comes with the truck...and basically chuck the stock electronic or use it on 1/18 protects.... Mine are faster than out of the box BL...all my toys are faster than out of the box.lol The truck is fine stock...becuase it's not super fast or over torque. If you want it faster....stock up on center rear CVD and shim the differentals. There's metal center CVD avaliable...but donst matter...the PINS in the cvd will wear out the CVD..either way from over torquing the truck... Mine dose a back flip from stand still and wheelies on command..but hell on the drive lines and differental gears....(which is all metal from the factory). It'll last or do fine on 2s.....The wltoys would simply strip if you go brushless without upgrades. The suboteck truck comes with all metal differental gears/cups..that will work with the wltoys 12842...the dogbone are actaully thicker than my 1/10 volcano

Same rear solid axle with the same gear ratio I have wl toys suspension and mounting and front top plate on both of mine they fit perfect. Just because they change the motor and spur gear and pinion there all the same exact platform and trying to sound smart saying there as close as losi and Traxxas real funny but they are as close as hsp and red cat I've had every brand of RC that is available in the US and team magic I can tell the difference between them dick small off the China wharehouse shelf changes aren't what I'm talking about there all the same platform

The WLTOYs 12842 has PLASTIC bevel gears attach to the drive CUPS which will strip over time or need Up GRADE before doing BL conversion Becuase the virhuck and the Fy03 is the SAME truck ...and the 12842 and Fy03 ISNT the same truck....DORK. Becuase it WASTE TIME and MONEY ordering the WRONG PARTs that wont fit....MORON. Becuase some people might want to UPGRADE to a 2845 in runner BL for more power....which drop right in ..( but will need to enlarge the shaft size)....I dont WTF actually size that is...Otherwise I just order a 30T-32T so one of mine will do over 45 mph.lmao You can.t just swap out SPUR/PINON to 48 or 32 pitch without doing research..Theres different Shaft size . How they're mounted. Plus stock Fy03's spur's shaft has brass BUSHING... It works fine if not over torque....It cuase problems or need to be upgrade to a Bearing to prevent the spur/clutch from coming un torque all the time if you use a more powerful brushless motor... Plus The PITCH size of the Main center shaft gear.lol Even the after market parts metal CVD for the FY 03 wont fit right..if you dont modify it...Even the SERVO HORNS are different size Gear PITCH..from brand to brand...You'll need a longer servo horn screw in order to use the servo horn saver..if you wanted to up grade to a MG or more powerful steering servo...becuase the damn PITCH of the screw are different from the stock servo screw. I know how to make my T Maxx do 50 mph...You'll have to order the proper parts...There's also differences in 2.3 or 3.3...ect The parts on my T Maxx wont work on my MGT 3.3 The MGT 3.3 parts wont work on the 4.6. Even the different 1/8 buggies arnt compatible..They all have different A arms/ knockles style. Even on some 1/8 Losi buggies..you cant simply just slap in a Bruchless motor from a nitro...It's too much torque for the nitro differentals..you'll need to upgrade it to 4 spyders.oki doke.
