Years after I left the university, I began learning what true education is. It's liberation and freedom from the systematic abuse of the mind by any force good or evil. It is learning the ability to master the control of your mind and to fulfill your mission part to humanity. Fela was a beautiful flower in the middle of the desert. I love his mind

Call me a softy but this is one is a Fela's interview that really got to me emotionally! He spoke for my generation, the ones to come and the entire interview was a display of how much of a gentle, kind, shy, cool, sensible, truthful giver & a philanthropy he really was. This man could have monetized his talent & his family influence but he chose to open our eyes & I'm thankful that his efforts were well documented though not in a single volume. Adieu "Omo Iya Aje!"

In this interview Fela expressed how much he loved Africa and how he tried to open the eyes of Africans to develop it nations through it own culture and indigenous methods, sad we are still where we were then, even worse now. I pray for Africa, Fela would be disappointed if he was alive. Nigerians betrayed him for voting in Obasanjo who killed his mother. The then General who led the raid on his compound about one thousand soldiers.

@@mikegeo111 Chairman Mike, and who voted for Buhari in 2015? Igbos are wise enough to understand the Hausas that they vote for. But just once Yoruba voted for fulani and he turned out to be a real terrorist. Are you not ashamed that you don't even have the intellectual capacity to select and vote in a non-fulani terrorist. See where your hatred for Igbos has landed the entire nation.

Yes he was a Yoruba but he reserved some of his deepest hatred for some other yoruba people. Fela was an African first. If he only sang in Yoruba he would have remained an obscurity for ever. Trust me there are lots of stupid Yoruba people too. A genius is a genius no matter what their ethnic may be. People like Fela are rarities whichever ethnic group you choose. Musicians now should watch Fela and learn that their role is not just to make fun shallow entertainment, but to be smart critical thinkers whose music helps end abuses and create a better society (while still be very cool and great to dance to, like Fela's music is!).

Fela trying very hard to pass a lot of knowledge across but the interview is so bent to ask questions revolving around is understanding and comfort. No shakes! Fela is just the best musician Africa has produced and he's trying to understand while an African, believed to be a total Illiterate (during his time and region), will have such believes and thoughts..
