there are clues in the catacombs (not that im smart enough to solve any of them) like the broken warden statues that pointed the secret hunters to the warden's vault island. i have no clue how they decided to summon the warden owl pet and get the buffs but at least the first part was obvious :D

This is actually one of the best Orb 8 tutorials out there. ConCon always takes it slow, and explains it in easy to understand examples and terms. As an old Gen X'er myself, I used a pen and paper method of tracking which lock I was working on, how many rats I killed for that lock, and then made sure I was looking at the correct Table for the number of the lock, and for how many statues on which pad. My suggestion is to just take it slow and be methodical and you won't fail if you follow this video. Thanks again, ConCon.

Thanks to the WoW gods because I only did the first 3 locks and everything was unlocked, i got a message about lock 4 being inert and that all mechanisms were already opened lol. Just like others I did this with a pen and paper as well, i just wrote a line for each rat i killed and took my time to go around the dungeon a bit to double check, changing the setting and creating the macro were perfect ways to get this done! Thank you again for the awesome video, i think this is the 3rd video ive followed and no i have 1-8oclock finished!

To help those confused with the chart like I was. When it's a single number it is just one statute to that number. For example, in chart 3, 7 rats it says 1 you will take one statue to one. BTW MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ALL the STATUTES from the last attempt it will screw up your next attempt. Another example chart 6, 7 rats, it says 2. TAKE ONE STATUTE TO 2!

If the third failed, you are probably making the same mistake I am. Short version: just click 'BEGIN' once. Long: I figured it out, and it must have been written down, I just didn't notice it. First click 'BEGIN', after that 'SUBMIT', rats appeared, when you are done with the first board, just click 'SUBMIT' (DO NOT CLICK BEGIN AGAIN) and you can continue with the next board after you have pulled down the statues from the previous one. That's it! I hope I could help! I feel so stupid.

If u're a hunter u can send your pets to sand on the pads, doing the same thing as those statues. after "SUBMIT" just click the follow buttom and then they will come back to. no need to run around pulling all those statues since u got 2 pets to use as statues

@@drewtabori8447 make sure u're using the right amout of statues/pets u need. its not the status that make the thing work, u just need the right color on the right pad, and the color is from the number of pets/status that u put on top of the pad. ALSO if let any critter alive, they might run over the pad and fuck u up

LOL that was crazy but not as frustrating as some of the other orb puzzles. I was under the impression that you had to do all 7 rounds rounds, but for me it unlocked the orb after only 4 rounds and I didn’t even know and I went ahead and tried to do it on 5 rounds and almost panicked when it said nothing on the machine except saying all mechanisms were found/solved, then I went to the orb room and saw the orb there! Anyway, thanks again for all these guides. I have one more to go before I open it. I hope the last one is not as hard as some of these other ones were!

you need to go back and do 5oclock, it requires pet battle and you use your hatred tokens ontop of the golden muffin you got from doing pet battles and turn them into the skeleton in booty bay. YOu missed a step

As always, thank you for the video. This one was interesting since it's another test of patience, but with a bit of less alt-tabbing between windows unlike with the owl statue puzzle. Just a slight update, but getting the wrong plate/number of statues will not result in a death, but will instead result in a lighting bolt striking your character similar to the Fashion Frenzy animation for being a winner in that mode. If that happens it will reset you back to Lock 1.

I don't know if it's a bug... but every time I complete the third mechanism, I get shocked. I know I counted every rat and made sure to go around the area once, twice, three times. It's still not working. Is there something I'm missing?

Turn 3 here is bugged apparently. Everytime I make it to the 3rd time without fail, i hit submit and get hit with static charge because of failure, yet there are no rats left, as well as the count for was tracked for rats and statues placed on pads accordingly to the chart. 1st and 2nd time never fails, 3rd time always failing.... anyone else having this issue? I double and triple checked the catacombs and no rats. I have to go back out and reset the instance every time after the fail on 3rd lock. FOUND SOLUTION: Figured out the issue, in another tutorial the player did not hit "begin" and then "Submit" ... you only have to hit "begin" the very first time you start the puzzle. after that you simply need to submit each time you get the statues on the pads, then run back, take them off the pads, and start killing rats again, rinse and repeat...

I miscounted the rats twice on the first round, but then I got through all 7. Fortunately it only shocked me, but didn't die or even get hurt. Maybe it gets worse the further you get? I think what messed me up was killing a rat without noticing that two died. I was careful about that going forward. There were even times when there were two rats in the exact same spot. I had to give them a few seconds for them to separate. Thank you for all the help!

That's the thing, Blizzard hasn't come out and said if this will remain or not unlike Dragonflight's Secrets of Azeroth which can still be completed even today. If I had to guess, I would say this will likely go away with the completion of the anniversary event in early Janurary simply due to the whole storyline of Ratts being directly tied in with the Anniversery storyline. However, I do think it would be nice if it remains, even if the Felcycle isn't obtainable after the event, leaving just the SoA as a form of additional content for new or returning players alike to complete in the future.

@@kiearawagner7901 Blizzard actually said that this secret will still be available after the event: "There are no time restrictions - once a secret has been released, it will be remain available to solve (with the exception of “Guest Relations” quests from Alyx - these are only available during WoW’s Anniversary)." So there should be no need to rush.

Will it have you unlock the same one multiple times? I seem to have gotten lock 7 twice. I second guessed my rat count but maybe I should have just went ahead? This is the best video ever! No accounting for human error on my part... lol

Ok, I answered my own question. It's yes! It had me unlock #6, 4 times. And then 1 and 7. I was thinking that all locks 1-7 had to be unlocked...

"..UnitName("target")); /run UIErrorsFrame:Clear() That one won't select dead rats, will mark them, will play a sound and will alert you in text. Put this into a macro, leave the macro on your bars and then just change the /tar line when you have other quests that need to find / target things. 👍

So after you hit the submit button after you place the statute then remove the statute, what do you do for the next solve? Are you hitting begin, then submit on the console? Or are you just hitting submit? You're not very clear on how to take the next step.

FYI. Do not press begin after the first submit. If you accidently did - you need to go back out of the instance and reset it. You will be there for hours thinking that because new rats spawned you can just keep going. You cannot.

i dont know if this means anything but theres a note in zulgurub that the torch does its link too and it says 4th clue and on it i believe it says "... the light" in the house where the lady who drops the panther mount is.
