SPOILER WALL We've implemented new regulations so that what happened to Feliks at the end of the second set won't happen again. We'll be requiring competitors to photograph their cube without touching it to show to the judge whenever the result is unclear. Hopefully this change along with others ( available at monkeyleague.org/regulations ) will reduce these kinds of preventable errors. Also, per popular request I've added empty space at the end of the video so that the length of the video doesn't give away the result. Set 2 was total BS. You can't tell the guy the time to beat is 10 seconds and when he beats it, you say sorry it was 8. There should be no rescramble for both. It should simply be Feliks who gets to do another scramble. Tymon already had his solve and was not affected by the mistake. Stupid ruling and it completely changed to flow of this match. I think if anyone should be furious at the incident, this is Feliks, not us. I don't think he did. He was just angry with himself for not doing his best, imo. No one would want it to happen. On the bright side, thanks to Feliks, the format of ML is now more comprehensive, I must say.

@@lovemoney911 Hi Sofia. Fair enough comment and maybe I was a bit too furious haha. But as a speedcuber and Monkey League viewer it was a very disappointing moment to watch. Feliks would have gone faster if he was told it was not a plus 2, he was just going for sub 10. It has the potential to change the entire Monkey League results. Saw it happen in season 2. The answer in the moment seemed obvious, just give him another solve. Most fair answer for everyone. Instead it was a complete advantage to Tymon. Nobody wants to watch unfair outcomes that had easy solutions to make it fair.

Unfortunately we can’t give just Feliks a resolve because he’s already done the scramble Tymon did, and it would be unfair to Tymon to let Feliks do a different scramble. Obviously nobody involved was happy with the situation, least of all me, but giving a resolve to both is the fairest available option. It’s the same as our policy for timer malfunctions. I’ve implemented new regulations and best practices which should make this type of error impossible in the future.

Hmm, I think Feliks wouldn't have accepted a resolve just for him because of what Phillip has said. But hey, we're all talking hypothetically and what really happened matters more than what would have happened, right? Ahh, hype for round 3 already. :)

@@lovemoney911 Good point about Feliks haha! Although, if I were in Tymon's position I would have given my competitor a re-solve. Tymon was not affected by the mistake, he was able to solve freely. Feliks just solved how he was told. Beating Tymon's time was the goal.
