One take away from this interview is that, nobody and nothing can be against you if you are sure about yourself and what you do as a person, as a human being. You can make mistakes, you can be nervous, there will be errors but if you are sure of yourself and you know who you really are, you will shine. Your light will shine no matter what. Redefining masculinity- breaking stereotypes and daring to be different- Felip as an artist is trying to do more than just create and express his musical preference. There may be hundreds of artists who are just as focused on their music and can produce really good music according to their level of talent and excellence- but Felip is bravely doing something more- and the fact that he is comfortable talking about it means there are no pretensions here. He thinks deeply about things others probably just want to discuss intellectually but can't assert publicly. Making a public assertion of what he's doing with his music makes him several steps ahead of others. Fighting inner demons and external negativity- we can all relate to that. Bulan proves that cultural symbols can transcend local meanings and speak universally- by metaphorically expressing the realities that bind us together as human beings regardless of our cultural, historical, linguistic, gender, and political differences. It's so inspiring the song Bulan by FELIP, because when we look at the story and the lyrics literally, we will know the story about the moon God, how the bakunawa swallow those characters in there and how haliya protect her brother. As what FELIP said that it is really difficult to understand the song if we will look at it by the story and the lyrics. If we put some effort and try to understand the whole song we will realize that behind the story, the myth, the choreography, the beat there is also a story that FELIP whats to give us. "The song carried not just one but two meaning". FELIP is really matalino when it comes to music and we can't deny that. Kudos to the team, stell, dancers, FELIP and SB19 members. Napakahusay!
