What established Felip/Ken as a solo artist was his Palayo, an RnB song in Bisaya, his native tongue. Quite bold of him to do so, considering Bisaya is not spoken and understood by many Filipinos. The risk-taker that he is, however, Felip found a hit in Palayo; I suggest you watch his MV and his WishBus perf of the same. Soon after, he released Bulan and despite the controversy, it gained him an invite in the Grammy Global Spin, the first and only pure-blooded Filipino to have such a feat. You may wanna check the MV, dance practice, and Grammy perf too. 😊

GUMSHI! I'll try to explain it the way he described it. Here goes..... He's giving us a picture of his action before the next verse "U can praise me.. But I'm never gon'na tell them I'm the Bad Man" Actually 2 words = "GUM" referring to the act of chewing a gum and then "SHI" the sound when you spit the gum out of your mouth w/ disappointment coz it's no longer fun w/o the sweetness. To be honest, I'm not into this kind of genre (BEFORE). When I first listened to Felip's EP, my initial reaction was "Oh no...this genre is not for me :(.. this isn't my type of music..but I love Felip...love to hear his voice..so I'll keep listening to it.." then after the second hearing of the EP, I then loved it..the more I play it over and over again, the more I got addicted to it. That's one of the magic that SB19 holds on me. Lumalawak yung genre of music ko. Noon, never ko nagustuhan ung mga songs na danceable, POP, hip-hop, rap...Dito lang talaga sa SB19 nag-iba ung taste ko sa music. And add ko lang, sa isang interview ni Felip, sinabi nya na alam nya na ung genre na ilalabas nya ay possible na di tipo ng music ng ibang fans. Pero ito yung gusto nyang ilabas na music and this is his style. And if di daw nagustuhan sa unang dinig, try daw pakinggan ulit then maybe mas magustuhan daw po..not exact words pero ganon ung thought na naalala ko. Also, tinartarget din nya sa EP na to ung community outside the fandom like hiphop community.. kasi possible na madaming casuals ang magustuhan ung ganitong music tapos macucurious tapos eventually, mahihila sa SB19..yun po naalala ko :).. Pero I really do appreciate your honesty po na di mo to type of music..but still, I love your reaction video and welcome po sa manukan kapwa sisiw..
