I paid $225 for a Marcelo seminar just to see what he does to set up the north-south choke. Incredibly precise with details. Here, Imanari had to know it was coming-- just couldn't do anything to defend it.

This was a clinic. Could have been a drill in his academy. Imanari simply couldn't even begin to come up with a plan to interfere with Marcelo's forward progression. Not unexpected, but it's wild to see it happen for real. One can only hope Marcello gets back in there soon.

It evolved to something else past marcelos tho, marcelo doesnt body triangle or use the straight jacket to trap the arm, marcelo was simply arm drag to backpack and choke during the scramble, most top guys dont use the back pack grip anymore as its easy to counter with turtle escapes and octopus type counters.
