Hello sir ..is this felkin Ahn model only used for aldehyde or keton? Or it is also used for acid , ester which is adjacent to chiral carbon?? I am little bit confused ...

Sir, u said that the 2nd example is syn product. But in clayden text it is anti. By referring Clayden text book after the nucleophile attacks through the burgi durnitz angle, through the rotation we put the largest carbon chain group in the plane of the paper. Then draw the product like the starting material. In the 2nd example after the attack of nucleophile we write the Newman projection. Then rotate the back carbon to place the largest carbon chain ethyl group in the plane of the paper. After the rotation the OH group become below the plane.

Hi...sir give me one answer that ....if the starting material contain one stereogenic centre and a prochiral carbonyl gr. then reaction at prochial centre will always be diastereoselective?..please give answer in detail if possible.

my suggestion to all subscribes. solve these problems by crams rule, bcz of crams rule solving ths problems becomes very easy to a great extent. but give explanation only through felkin model bcz logics are more important than rule. some additional point to felkin model. y we place more bulkier grp perpendicular to carbonyl.its due to effective overlapping of [pie]* to [sigma]* to form new lumo of lowest energy.
