I think it's fair to say this episode is my favorite so far, it destroyed me, I cried so hard, the acting god, like how much Hawk has changedfrom 50s to 80s, and the way we got to see even back in the 50s the way Tim is changing him. I'm seriously looking forward to seeing if they're gonna stay away from the books ending and have hawk stay with tim all the way until the end in the eighties to get at least as much of a happy ending as you can given the circumstances

"Back to the small d*ck crew..." I died 😂 These sc*mbags surely had some stuff to compensate for, and a lot of internalized shame and self-hatred. Gosh this episode was such a hard one. My heart breaks for every one of them, but especially for Tim. I don't think Hawk will end up with HIV. I think he'll pass through it like he passed through every thing else ~ seemingly ~ unscathed (although we're starting to see his vulnerable side). This series is a great and heartbreaking reminder that things change for the better because of people like Tim or Frankie, who were exceptionally brave in showing their vulnerability and pushing against societal norms instead of conforming, but at great cost...

I have a bad feeling that Hawk is HIV positive. This whole show has been him going on about being bulletproof. Nobody is bulletproof, no matter how safe they think they are. I'm suspicious of the spots on Hawk's forehead. Of course, they could just be age spots, but they also could be lesions. Who knows! I keep saying this, but this show is perfection. It deserves every award. Matt and Jonathan deserve every award.

I don’t think Hawk will be HIV positive. This love story was always going to end tragically. The worst tragedy for Hawk is going to be living many many more years without Tim.

loved you reaction! just wanted to kinda give you a heads up cause you predicted that there would be a time jump this episode, that the majority of this series will be set in the fifties due to the book that this show is based off of spans from 1951 to 1957, id say the last 3 eps is where we get into the 60s 70s and 80s 🙂

I genuinely disliked Hawk in this episode, and it’s becoming clearer why Tim’s so angry with him in the ‘future’. I’m still loving the show, but Hawk doesn’t deserve Tim, and Tim doesn’t deserve the way Hawk treats him.

I feel the same way. Tim deserves so much better, but they are both victims of an unaccepting society. Hawk is older and has more experience hiding his true self so I think it's easier for him to manipulate Tim. And Tim is infatuated with Hawk, so he can't help it and just wants to be happy.
