I had the pleasure of attending the church that he was raised in (Mount Olive Friendship Baptist Church of Guthrie, Ok). In fact, his mother was my Sunday school teacher, lol. Until his mother passed, Glenn came back every year and did a music workshop. I was young and sung in the children's choir. My sisters, cousin, aunties all sung in the adult choir. It blows my mind that they helped with arrangements of some of these songs. We definitely looked forward to the workshop every year. He deserved much more exposure for his greatness but he was quick to give the honor and glory to the most high!

I'm just learning about the work of Glenn Burleigh. I grew up as a musician during this era. But this ... I missed it!!! I was not exposed to it on such a professional level. I'm speechless!!! At least I can enjoy it in retrospect via the web. I really wish that I could have been part of this moment.
