Fellspine - Solo Enchanter Guide - Siren's Grotto - Everquest Project 1999

In this video, I walk through how you go about killing a high level seahorse named Fellspine in Siren's Grotto. This seahorse drops some great items including a highly sought after belt that can make you rich.
You will need to still have your faction in good standing after casting collaboration. You will need the lvl 60 spell Dictate to handle the charm. And, you will need to take advantage of the /q command when killing Fellspine so that you do not hurt your faction further not allowing you to do this spawn again.
Sorry for the poor video quality and crazy sound imbalance. This was the first recording done since setting up P99 on this rig. The settings were done incorrectly causing bad blurriness.

Nice video,when I do this camp I throw an aanyas on the mistress and I've never had fellspine survive. The 3min wait can be torture. If you have untouched faction a rod clicky is enough

Question... First kill in there and I did the /q, but when I logged back in my char had moved back like 4 steps instantly aggroing the elemental on the ledge getting me killed. I didnt get to loot Fellspine, unfortunately... Any idea why I moved backwards on the /q??

ive never had that happen myself. probably just a crazy bug. losing the loot sometimes happens on that camp as you only have limited time to get back. I've had the power go out right after I /q once lol.

The game saves your state every server tick (6 seconds) the last server tick for you must have been 4 steps back.

bear pits are best exp to have in game and pretty simple. Howling stones and seb are fun crawls but can be difficult. Skyshrine Fe'Dhar are also easy camps.

That roamer spawn is definitely a spot I've seen Fellspine, but I may have seen fellspine somewhere else. It has been a really long time however and I could be mistaken. I seem to remember him spawning down to the right through the tube from the entrance at cobalt scar. You would drop in the water, go right through the tube and Fellspine was on the left. IIRC he could spawn in many places that seahorses can spawn.

this is his only spawn point i've seen on the classic p99 server. could definitely be more i'd say, but i've killed a lot of seahorses around without seeing any pop other than there

@@RektYou Yeah it's also possible that they didn't know he could possibly spawn somewhere else so they didn't emulate it correctly.

any idea what would keep causing me to be killed, i get the PH/FS down no problem and also make it to the cubby and have the pet hasted, but i keep logging back in to find myself dead in the water going towards fellspines camp

are you getting aggro from the water elementals at all? they will still hold aggro even when you're out of the water. so they'll run and kill you when you /q out. make sure they are all pacified. there is also a very small chance you get summoned in middle of fight, but that's not a usual thing.

@@RektYou hmmm, its been kind of hit or miss, i actually think its the pet summoning me, idk if the way my character is facing makes a difference, but facing inwards to the wall before i /q might have fixed it, yeah all the mobs were paci’d and pather gone in the other direction lol, im a bit stumped =p

@@rogerfulton3598 you're most likely just having hella bad luck haha. if you're out of water and pet breaks, there's a chance you get summoned, but it's been pretty rare for me. maybe too close to water or something and your toe is still in lol.

@@RektYou theres definately something with luck involved lol, im getting it down better though! I”ve also noticed /qing in the cubby seems to somehow move my character even. Logged in on top of the elemental in the first cubby 2x, but thankfully got off a glamour rod click in time lol. Thanks for responding and best of luck to ya!

when you charm mobs as an enchanter do you slow or haste either charmed or opponents?

it depends on your pull and how you want it to end. If you have a 1v1 and you want your pet to die at the same time as the enemy, then you don't need haste but may use slow to help even out a HP advantage so that you can finish both with a single dd blast. If you are grabbing a super powered pet and want him to mow through 3-4 mobs before you med him up, then you haste the shit out of him, give him weapons and sometimes gear, then slow the enemies heavily. If you're pulling multiple mobs in a single pulls, like 3-5, then no need for slows or hastes.

@@RektYou Thanks for the info. I don't know if it's my ADHD but having to deal with so many spells and knowledge all at once I don't know if I can handle being an Enchanter. I have made it to level 56 Shadowknight on Blue name is Ryback. Trying to maybe try a Shaman named Ryback on Green if I can get into it again. My biggest problem is uncertainty. I'll start a character play him for a few levels then start a new class and then repeat over and over and over again. I wish I can be a Beastlord again but I know that won't happen but this starting over problem I have in every game I play. I have played the heck out of 7 days to die but have rarely ever made it to the 7th day because I start over nonstop. Not sure why I do that but it's who I am I guess lol.

so no faction hit when /q out? why do u /q out at 20% and not when its lower?

no faction hit. if you /q out too late, you'll get the faction hit so 20% is safe bet especially at this camp where the mob goes down very very fast since they hit so hard in SG

Every time I try this, exactly as you do here, Fellspine asbolutely wrecks the neriad pet you're dictating to kill him, even when she's torched. What am I missing? She dies wayyy before dictate fades and Fell is still at like 60%

are you getting any adds? the double dps would wreck the pet quick. You might of missed a calm from the pather or something.

@@RektYou Whats your pet attack macro? does it target last target, then attack? I've been manually clicking or tab targetting and it's caused some close calls.

@@dregaus I just have it straight attack... so, /pet attack is it. I am always very aware of having my enemy and my pet as my last 2 targets though. This way I use the "last target" key I've bound to switch back and forth between those without risk of clicking or tabbing another mob.
