This video was not done in one take. The cuts can be seen and the cinematographer Samuel Perry-Falvey himself clarified the question in the comments for Jonathan Hiller's (Filmmaker Reacts) reaction to Hi Ren. It's a masterpiece nonetheless, no need to go around saying that this was done in one take. Many of the other videos like the Tales are in fact one-shot videos though.

Spot on. He called this genre bardcore himself :). He does many genres actually, has many rap songs (checkout Hunger, Genesis, Sick Boi from his current album and many others in the past), has rock stuff with his band The Big Push, he also has lots of eclectic stuff mixing hiphop, rock, blues, reggae among others.

5:56 - so many people leave these lines just sitting there... so glad to see you call it out on your very first Ren listen. :) 8:54 - 😂🤣 haha, why indeed? I mean, I think because that's just a thing we humans do, but yeah. :) 9:38 - hahaha, well said! Though if you really want to see it unleashed, check out Kujo Beat Down. (Recommended to watch the explainer (the 36 minute video right before it in the upload history) first so you can have the context to understand what he's on about.) 11:00 - haha, I'm not sure I'd ever noticed that, but yeah, it's certainly at least reminiscent! 14:02 - I'm guessing you've figured out his story by now, but if you still have questions, I'm sure I or someone would be happy to answer. :) 14:41 - haha, yup! He calls it BardCore. :) 17:39 - Yeah... he's a student of music, and I'm so here for it. One other thing I wanted to say, that I noticed while watching other reactions last night, but didn't quite think to say: I'm seriously impressed by your ability to hear, catch, and even remember complex lyrics on the first listen. I don't know how much that's some innate talent you have, and how much it's the result of years of training (whether or not you actively thought of it that way) -- I presume some of each -- but whatever the basis of it, it's impressive, and I'm here for that, too. Subscribed.

Bard is a very Welsh profession. Ren grew up around Ren Fairs/Festivals. His step-dad played stringed instruments in these festivals. Music is his being. His style is called Bard-Core. In the Tales, you can see him putting on the minstrel's mask with each one, Violet's being the most distinctive with the shoulder reset. He is a Bard in the grandest definition of the word.

I love that in everything he does you can feel the switch between characters in his mannerisms, music and voice. How he switches from Ren to dark Ren then to angelic Ren so damn smoothly but you can tell who’s who. I think he calls the music BardCore and it hella fits

Your comment about being a bard is spot on. Also just clicking to what others are saying in relation to Bard-Core. Ren does have a layer that reminds me of some wonderful 'folk' songs - with his brilliant skills on the guitar. That is music that tells the stories that are both beautiful and often heartbreaking. So many influences rolled up into a very talented musician. Enjoy the Ren ride. Only just started the ride in the last couple of weeks - all brilliant.

What I love most about Ren, as a middle aged white Australian boi, is he has introduced me to reaction videos that I'd usually have no connection to. This world is actually pretty tiny if you can remove the bull shit prejudices we learn and take on as we "evolve". He can do it all. He's been making music for many years. In summary he became very sick and was misdiagnosed for many years and bedridden for almost a decade and it was finally found that he had Lyme disease but they found it way too late. Finally he got stem cell treatment around 2016 which gave him a large chunk of his health back to where he can function in society more so, but he still deals with a lot. He's currently in Canada for special treatments to try and reclaim his health which will last at least 6 months. check out his YT community page for more info on his health. There's a lot of info. He recorded a bunch of music in preparation to him going to Canada too. By the comments I'm sure you'll figure out what to do next. He was also in an incredible band the Big Push which you have to get to. Welcome and enjoy the ride!
