I haven't done any felt, but for a similar quilted wreath, I used a foam circle but no stuffing. The foam is still quite light weight but provides a lot more support than posterboard. I think I'd get another piece of felt that's a good match to the backing and cover the foam circle on both sides. Then once the actual front of the wreath is all assembled, I would slip stitch it to the already covered wreath. For my quilted wreath, the foam provides excellent support and if any of the elements start to sag, a strategic pin or two straight into the foam solves the problem. Yours looks so cute. And I especially love the free hanging spider!

I was thinking on a similar line as you about covering "something" with felt, then attaching the wreath front to it, but I couldn't figure out what that would be. I'm definitely going to have to experiment with the foam ring next time I do a wreath! 👍👍

The wreath is fantastic! The hanging spider is perfect.😊 Far as the sequins, in my kit, there were variations in color. I only had kit sequins, so maybe it's a packaging or factory issue. But I didn't notice until you pointed it out.

Thanks! I have noticed that the kit sequins are not really the best quality, so it makes sense the colors are not consistent. Oh btw, I did get a pair of Karen Kay Buckley scissors, but I haven't tried them yet! 😊

Your wreath turned out absolutely beautiful! What a great addition to your Halloween decor. I made myself a felt stocking in the 70’s and it’s become a tradition in our family that everyone needs a felt stocking. I’ve made each of my kids and grandkids their own stockings and they’re so fun to do. I laughed about how you avoid doing the satin stitch when you can because I do the same thing! I look forward to seeing you do more felt projects.

I love it! You did a great job! I made a fall Bucilla wreath and I struggled with the back and board too. I enjoy the stockings much more. You will have so much fun! I have been making Bucilla kits for a long time, and I usually stitch through the stuffing. And I never go in order either! I figure the instructions are just guidelines anyway. 😂

Thank you! I knew I couldn't be the only one that struggled with that backing! I was watching the videos that Plaid Crafts puts out showcasing the new releases, and their wreaths look much flatter than mine. I think the fuller the peices, the bigger the struggle😂

It's so cute. I've learned I don't have to follow the instructions step by step as long as I read them first. So I end up embroidering everything, then sequins, etc. of course accounting for how it goes together. Sometimes I don't feel like cutting so I'll sew sequins and vice versa. When I did the fall wreath I kept thinking there must be an easier way to do this, lol. It was very fiddly

I can't even tell you how happy this video makes me (aside from the fact that this wreath is ADORABLE and now I need to buy it!). Many of the little bumps you came along with this one I have struggled with too and it's nice to see I'm not alone and you are a much better problem solver than I am. It's refreshing to see that not everything is perfect and this has really helped me!

After seeing the way yours turned out, I am going to do it the polly fill way and see how it turns out. I'll let you know - but it was a fun kit and yes there were a few challenges but nothing you couldn't figure out. your videos are awesome.

The wreath looks really great and I agree with others that your changes are better than the model. While you were doing it I was wondering if one of those lightweight green wire wreath forms you can get at Joanne's might be an option? They are pretty flat if you just use one side. ? Not sure if you can get the correct size but they do have multiple sizes. As always, enjoy watching your videos. I can hear in your voice that you had a lot of fun doing the wreath. I'm almost done the Christmas Birds ornament kit - on the last bird - the other cardinal. I'll post to your hashtag when the whole group is finished. 🙂

@@SusanHenshaw I think it depends on the skill of the 12 year old. I mean it's doable, but there were some fiddly parts that might be frustrating for them. You can always give it a try and if it's too much, you can save it for later and try maybe an ornament kit to practice. The Gingerbread cookie kit I did would be a great one for beginners because the shapes are easy to deal with. Hope that helps!
