FEMA Urban Search & Rescue San Diego CA Task Force 8 deployment to North Carolina - Hurricane Helene

On Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, members of San Diego Urban Search & Rescue - California Task Force 8 (CA-TF8) deployed to North Carolina to help those affected by Hurricane Helene.
CA-Task Force 8 is made up of more than 200 personnel from several agencies within San Diego County - SD Fire-Rescue is the sponsoring agency for the task force.
Forty-eight members of the task force (as part of a Type III water rescue team) are on the road to North Carolina. All personnel are proud to travel any distance to help those devastated by the hurricane.
This video is just a snapshot of the hours of preparation required for the team to have the equipment and supplies they need to be effective once they reach their destination. Godspeed!
