If a woman is physically capable of doing everything her male counterparts, then I have no problem with it. In some states they have literally lowered the physical requirements for women to be able to be hired. A woman who failed the physical test TWICE, but did well on the written part sued and they caved and hired her. Peoples LIVES are at stake. Upper body strength is essential for this job. Specifically for breaking doors down and carrying victims of an injured firefighter. And 99.9% of women don’t have he strength to carry their gear and carry a fully grown man. The fact that they are willing to put people in danger for the sake of diversity is disgusting. The fact that you think it’s sexism, shows you’re part of the problem.

Where I'm from in Australia they absolutely have to do the same tests. There's no favoring because they're women and in fact, when I tried out in 2015 a saw a whole lot of women fail.

It does depend on where you live but at the end of the day, when your life is at risk, you won't care whether the person who saves you is male or female.

Dragonstrike 3579 in the sense of firefighting yea, but when it comes to EMS calls, say you’re called out to a domestic violence or rape case that involves a female victim, of course the victim would rather talk to a female about the incident. Not just females are caring and compassionate but some may get intimidated by talking to a male about some private things like that.

Most women have upper body less than a 14 year old. Trans belong in womens sport to show the most elite women still left in the dust by some dude in a dress.

Just like female track runners. Womens record time is longer than a qualifying time for men. The only reason to employ a "fire woman" is if you pay them less. After all, all they seem to do according to this segment is "talk" when they reach the fire. Sounds true in general. You offend the capable men, their families, and their sacrifice, just for equality of outcome, when you pay these women equally for less labor. I for one would not feel safe and assured of my families safety if a woman was the rescuer. Simply ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is that we pay taxes for the compromise of our safety.

i think the “talking” your referring to is when they roll up on medical calls with females and people are more comfortable talking to them. Physical standards are the same across the board, as someone who’s tested alongside men, ive smoked some and i’ve been beat by some. And if your family is in danger, it would probably be best to put your ego aside and let them be rescued. just a thought.
