I’m a prosecutor in FL, today I got a call from a police officer saying a woman who is 17wks pregnant didn’t want the baby and didn’t know what to do so she drank OxiClean to kill herself. He called to ask if we would be willing to prosecute her. I left my desk and went and cried in my car. I’m not gonna be complicit in that, she’s not a criminal she’s a victim. So scary. I can’t believe this is our reality.

@@Hispanoteuton the 6 week mark means that you are only 2 weeks late on your period. Most people don’t even know they’re actually pregnant yet and that’s surely not enough time to make plans for how to proceed. Also if you’re low income and/or have to work a lot that really doesn’t leave much time to get things figured out. On top of it, appointments at planned parenthood purposely take HOURS bc they have to give you mandatory counseling and time to be really sure. It’s a whole day event to even qualify and you have to face the religious protesters shaming you as you walk in (definitely happens at my local one, they have to have volunteers to help keep them distracted from harassing the women).

I feel betrayed by the overwhelming amount of Latina women who voted for Trump. It warms my heart that you are an ally. Please don’t give up the good fight. Being from Indiana, it is just crazy the reality we’re living in. We have a full abortion ban, no exceptions. We have a governor (Mike Braun Christian Nationalist) who said allowing interracial marriage was a mistake, ran on defunding public education and expanding school choice. More proposals to clear forests in Indiana which have almost vanished completely. And even porn is banned in the state🤣🤣 No restrictions on guns though, concealed carry without a permit is fine!

I completely understand how you feel Carly. It’s a horrible and confusing feeling to come to the complete realization for the first time how little your country and some people in your life care about you. I remember feeling that way for the first time during the BLM movement as a black woman. Just want to say I appreciate you ladies using your platform to talk about how disappointing this election outcome was. I know you are usually unproblematic but I appreciate seeing how much you are vocalizing how FUCKED up this is. I know SO many women, LGBTQ folks and minorities are struggling with this outcome. We will keep fighting. I know these next 4 years will be devastating for many to the point it will cost some their lives but we can’t give up. We gotta channel this anger into something. As someone living in Europe I am gonna say 1 thing - the way you vote , that system I fu*ked up tbh. In Poland voting is so protected , you don't have to register, if you are 18+ you can vote , you have to go to certain place to vote they have you on their list , if you take card to vote they take you off that list and you sign that you took that card , then you go behind curtain , vote , throw that card into big ballot box and all of that is supervised so you can't commit any crime . Seeing how you vote blows my mind 🫣

I know you are joking when you say you will just move to Canada but I feel like everyone is very misinformed. We pay 40% of your income in taxes to get “free healthcare” which btw 25% of people don’t have access to a doctor and only covers basic healthcare the rest you are paying through insurance. Canada is also experiencing the same thing in regards to human rights in our elections coming up and we are also affected economically by Trump while experiencing one of the worst economies in the world.
