Yeah. This has been happening under the radar for quite some time. All the danger and violence from the 80s and 90s specially the gang related stuff. Compton isn't at all what is used to be. Neither are any of the other South Bay cities or Los Angeles areas. Drugs are still flooding probably more addiction and i believe that's why homelessness increased. The theft is sky rocketed but the gang related violence went away towards desert cities. Why desert cities? Nevada is desert zone. Las Vegas is in the middle of a desert. Just like the riverside and inland empire cities in California that suddenly had increase in population. All the criminals were pushed out of the big city and coastal cities probably due to cost of living. The problem with the desert is not enough employment available. So the working people that live in the desert cities they all drive towards La and then drive back home which is why the traffic is a problem. The opposite side is the fwy is flowing though lol. Kind of gives you a certain perspective to see that it's not by chance but someone who is directing all this quietly. On the subject of the homelessness they all got swept out of the nice coastal beach cities and pushed down to the south Bay area where I'm from. They stopped doing sweeps over a year ago. They even have designated areas where they have allowed them to set up their tents RV or build their own little shelter with whatever materials they have acquired. At the same time I have been hearing a lot of cartel people operating in the small towns of California and setting up their operations in many cities and towns in California. There were a few militias made up of hunters and ex military men who have taken up arms and are actively waging war on these violent cartel people. Don't know if it's still happening or if it's true but i don't see or hear about this anywhere in any news or media outlet like YT but i know I've seen videos talk about this on here. Just not being announced or mentioned at all. And that definitely raises an eyebrow. We aren't even aware of what is happening in our backyard let alone the nation or in the middle east or Ukraine. We don't know the truth. We just know whatever we are told which is not much. And everybody is fine with that as long as they have cell phones with Internet and electricity to run their technology. Sooner or later California will be going thru something awful and the cries will not be heard by anyone who cares to give it the attention it deserves. I don't know how we can all sleep at night knowing that during Justice is happening right now as we speak as we read this as I write it and it's not even that far from where we're at. I worked security for the aoartments behind that smiths before i started they had 30 stolen cars found on property and 57 vehicle burglaries...cleaned out the cars and started checking i.d.s coming in and locked the west exit...stopped all the car burglaries.....they let me go after a year of cleaning it up...last time i went thru they had homeless in the dumpster corrals

The stolen cars were pretty obvious as they sat for months, the car burglaries were mainly tenants lying to management and getting a percentage taken off the rent, told management not to honor the claim unless they had a metro report, checking id coming onto property is also allowed when management tells you if they dont have i.d. call the tenant they identified if no tenant no access.we also took care of the fire extinguishers and exterior lights....personally stopped 5 car burglaries just chasing them away....maced 1 guy that attacked me, tased another that attacked one of the managers.....not cops but close!!

I visited Las Vegas for the first time last month and witnessed a shooting on the strip. For me as a European tourist, it was an eye-opener as to why a high percentage of US Americans are so on edge even when standing in line at the supermarket. If the person behind you is having a bad day and happens to be carrying a gun, you’re directly unsafe. I thought being scared or alert about your life safety was one of the third world country problems. Seeing it happen in Vegas gave me a bit of insight as to what is horribly wrong in one of the world’s strongest economies.

Me either. However, I’m retired from criminal court here. These types of occurrences doesn’t come close to the representing the city at large. Like most large cities, there are sketchy areas, all that can be reached via bus. So people here that believe the city is riddled with crime, should stay away from the REAL big cities. I grew up in San Francisco and Oakland. I went to New York and Philadelphia and was shocked when everything like stores were closed at 9p! This incident is one of many crimes that happens in THAT area. This is a big city with a small town mentality. It’s time to grow up because it’s not going back.

At this time it is up to the states whether they allow constitutional carry or not. There are a majority of states that have signed it into law. Maybe one day it will be nationwide, one way or another.
