It will be a stitch up, it will allow the guilty to avoid scrutiny, it will muddy the waters, it will cost billions, make lawyers rich and it will exonerate the police, local authorities, politicians etc. Every ‘inquiry’ gives the government exactly what it wants. It chooses the judge who leads it and it is the judiciary who are at fault amongst others. An inquiry will look after the establishment, not expose them.

Regarding ‘wealthy pensioners’ I have an elderly neighbour with a nice house. I popped around to see them the other day and the house was freezing. He has a small private pension plus the state pension but like everyone he pays £250 a month council tax, £200 a month gas/electric, £70 a month water rates before he buys any groceries. He can’t afford to fix his car and can’t afford to buy/lease a new one. How young people manage is a complete mystery if they are paying a large mortgage. We are all getting hammered and it will get worse

I recently had a seizure and was brought in by ambulance and ended up just discharging myself... I was fortunately with my dad, and just turned and said to him. I need to go home man I need my bed I can't sit up any longer. When they brought me in I couldn't even speak properly or form sentences. It is ridiculous. Basically having to discharge myself so if I got worse that's a second ambulance off the streets to hospital for the same reason.

I think there should be both local and national enquiries - the local should be undertaken and then the national which should pull together all local results, check and investigate with impartiality - and there should be nobody who is from the main ethnicity involved (in the raping of young girls) in undertaking the national enquiry to avoid ANY conflict of interest. The way this has been handled so far is disgraceful and I expect they are protecting the previous head of the DPP in refusing the national enquiry in which case Jess Phillips should be having sleepless nights throwing her own beliefs as well as the young girls involved under the bus. Shame on anyone who has known and not taken appropriate action.

It is rather galling to learn that a health service I'm forced to financially contribute to can treat me with such disdain and contempt, yet a failed asylum seeker can walk into a GP surgery and get a comprehensive health check-up at the drop of a hat when they shouldn't even be in this country. 😡

I accompanied a friend who was an emergency patient to a hospital in Feance. Before she was admitted to a treatment room, I was asked to provide her health insurance details. No insurance no treatment. If they can do this so easily across the Channel then why can't we adopt the same approach. All GP surgeries have front receptionists as do A & E depts (and usually some form of security officer).
