🇫🇷 De l’automne 2022 à l’été 2023, la Philharmonie de Paris rend hommage à ‪@felakuti‬. Pour inaugurer ce cycle « Rébellion Afrobeat », l’institution parisienne invite le fils et le petit-fils de l’immense musicien nigérian à une soirée reliant Lagos à l’Europe. Le concert que vous avez sous les yeux est ainsi porté par Femi Kuti (fils aîné de Fela Kuti) et la chanteuse franco-nigériane Asa.
En digne héritier de son père disparu en 1997, Femi Kuti continue de porter haut la flamme de l'afrobeat, une musique qui navigue sans cesse entre jazz et rythmes africains, mais aussi entre sensualité, abandon de soi et diatribes pleines de la rage des révoltés. De quoi faire de notre homme l’un des plus grands ambassadeurs de la scène nigériane actuelle.
Asa fait également partie des artistes qui font rayonner leur héritage nigérian hors du continent africain. La vie de la chanteuse a toujours été partagée entre la France et le Nigeria : née à Paris, la musicienne a passé son enfance à Lagos avant de retrouver l’Europe pour lancer sa carrière. De ce parcours atypique, Asa tire une musique qui associe folk, soul et reggae.

🇩🇪 Von Herbst 2022 bis Sommer 2023 ehrt die Pariser Philharmonie Fela Kuti mit einer Konzertreihe. Zum Auftakt dieser Reihe, die den Titel „Rébellion Afrobeat“ trägt, hat die Pariser Institution den Sohn und den Enkel des großen nigerianischen Musikers eingeladen. Bei dem Konzert, das eine Brücke zwischen der nigerianischen Millionenmetropole Lagos und Europa baut, treten Fela Kutis ältester Sohn Femi Kuti und die franko-nigerianische Sängerin Asa auf.
Als würdiger Erbe seines 1997 verstorbenen Vaters hält Femi Kuti die Fackel des Afrobeats hoch, der sich zwischen Jazz und afrikanischen Rhythmen bewegt, zwischen Sinnlichkeit, absoluter Hingabe und wütender Revolte. Femi Kuti ist damit einer der obersten Botschafter der aktuellen nigerianischen Musikszene.
Auch Asa ist eine Künstlerin, deren nigerianisches Erbe über den afrikanischen Kontinent hinaus strahlt. Das ganze Leben der Sängerin spielt sich zwischen Frankreich und Nigeria ab. Geboren in Paris, verbrachte sie ihre Kindheit in Lagos, bevor sie wieder nach Europa zurückkehrte, wo sie ihre Karriere startete. Aus diesem atypischen Werdegang entsteht eine Musik, die Folk, Soul und Reggae verbindet.

Concert incroyable et super festival!! Par contre j'étais à la Philarmonie et le son n'était pas du tout comme ça, on entendait surtout Femi, le bass, et les backing-vocal, mais pas les autres. La Philarmonie a fait un très mauvais travail de son pour les gens présent dans la salle de concert! Merci Arte, parce que maintenant on peut vraiment écouter le concert complet comme il aurait fallu.

haha, vu un groupe d'Afrobeat au Nancy Jazz Pulsation la semaine dernière, et même chose : on entendait que la basse et quelques voix, il a fallu regarder la captation d'Arte pour entendre tout le reste. Sinon ici, un seul guitariste, une seule percussionniste, un peu tristounet pour jouer du Fela...

@@vivaelparaguay étant moi même un grand aficionado d'afrobeat et et musicien afrobeat...c'est vrai , seulement qu'un gratteux (ici opeyemi) pour de l'afrobeat c'est étrange... Le problème de la basse haute est un peu généralisé hélas... Souvent dans des lives il y a avait la basse baveuse ainsi que le kick, ça n'allait pas ...

I got a chance to see femi kuti at 2009 banaroo and i have never felt the kind of power and energy that was coming from the stage The horns the drums the singing the dancing the band All so unbelievable and pure music Feel bad for the people that had to sit during this But what an amazing venue The acoustics must have been like auditory overload So nice

Because Femi chose his own style of music even while Fela was around, Femi is fast tempo. Femi created his own image just Made's music is even different from Femi's and Fela's. Seun is more Fela than Burna, except you haven't seen Seun play.

@@abayomidosumu8139 I stand by my comment! Baba Fela was a maverick (maybe it was him that spoilt me (us) with his amazing displays) but Femi is flaccid, dull and uninspiring! If he didn't have'Kuti' as a last name he would be nowhere as a performer! Thank God for Burna Boy!!!
