I was literally crying today and had no idea why. Figured out I think I’m dealing with an emotional block. I feel that I can never fully express my emotions. I feel so shy to dance or show excitement or even show intense love to people. I feel uncomfortable speaking about emotions. I am the oldest daughter and have always felt like a mother to my siblings … never thought about the connection. Now I know I need to work on this ! This video is perfect timing. Thank you Alexis ! 🩷

Watching this angel changed my WHOLE life. The first video I've ever clicked on was "performing vs being feminine" at a time when my school had an intramurals that made me discover a sport that AWAKENED the passion in me after years of built up apathy and anger. When I was magnetized to listen to that video, my whole world was shaken. I could align with everything she talked about, and I just took in everything with love and agreement. I started watching videos from her about the body, nervous system, and survival mode and gosh I would not know who I'd be or what I'd make of my life if I didn't have that recorded in my head. Now, I am a whole different person, a whole different girl! Thank you so much Alexis for all you do for women 💞

I can't believe I missed this cause I was studying😭 This concept is so interesting to me. At first, I didn't understand because I'm the last born in our family and I thought, "I'm not really sure there's much of a difference as the last born." This was especially because I'm also an avid planner ^^. Then you went on to explain that first borns are usually scolded more by parents but the kids that follow don't experience it as much, and I remembered my older sister describing how differently she grew up from me. We have a significant age gap and she told me that she used to be punished when she did bad things. I've never been punished for anything by my parents. I can't even picture that happening. And once I put myself in my sister's shoes, seeing how she had to take care of us when our parents were late while I got to play and be carefree, I realized that I've really had it easy. And I really was spoiled more lol, not cause they love me more but I think parents relax more as they go along and they spend less on the family as people grow up. I feel really grateful for that. Thanks for shedding light on this, Alexis. Now, back to the video!
@fayerosty5 ай бұрын
Only child here ! ✨ I never realized that you youngest siblings never knew this family dynamic ! It is a very very obvious thing to observe, and I've always been confused why other siblings nor the parents ever cared to stop that! As if it was intentional. : >
@Chrissy3755 ай бұрын
@@fayerosty It's hard to observe in my family because our parents treat us equally. There's never been a preference between us. What I was saying is that parents tend to loosen up more as they go along, and that was the case with my family. My elder sister obviously shouldered the burden of being the third parent, but she has never been treated differently than us in terms of love and care.

It has something to do with learning to lead and beeing led from a young age on. With onlychilds it depends. They can "play" both, the leading one ore the one who's been led

Ok, so I am the youngest daughter with oldest daughter syndrome. I have trauma from this (being treated as the oldest daughter due to my sister being born with disabilities). I do not know how to behave as the youngest daughter and whenever I tell anyone I am the youngest in my family I am instantly stereotyped. My brother is the eldest and 10 years my senior, but he was always able to get away with anything being the only boy.
@feariehollow3 ай бұрын
Okay, first of all, you should do the most essential and basic form of inner-work. Shadow work and self-discovery. Get deep, how did that affect you? Do you have any problems within yourself that COULD root to that trauma? Second of all, you do not know how to behave like the youngest daughter? It CAN be intimate and emotional but trust me girl, do not think that's difficult. You'll enjoy the journey, just set that intention! Second, you don't know how to behave like the youngest daughter? Sometimes you can get inspiration for that and sometimes you can discover that yourself. Since you already have the eldest daughter syndrome, you know your struggles girl! ✨ You can go find other people you admire (or envy lol) that are your complete counterparts which would be very easy for you to identify. It DOES take time, and it needs practice just like Alexis's given examples, but it doesn't have to be difficult, consider it a fun challenge haha!
