theories are perspectives , like micro and macro when it comes to human interaction , like say fear affects you as an individual one way and it transaltes differently when you apply that to a collective its hard to quantify it into data points , its more based on obdservation of human interaction, and the macro micro thing was born out of the marxist perspective , the "data" for gender theories is, gender roles tend to differ based on which culture you come from based on which time in history you are looking it, its determined by that culture and henceforth its a social construct , as society evolves its constructs also evolve with it , as you can see women dont abide by traditional gender roles as society pushes forward , that makes it so that even the masculine gender roles have to adapt
