Really appreciate your videos. I work in a super small design team (in a not-for-profit) with far less formalized systems and processes. Seeing how things are done in more mature design teams is very valuable! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Great insight into design crits. Like you mentioned the participant role is super important and can be overlooked.

Hey, Femke! Thanks for putting this together! What advice would you have for a designer that either struggles to schedule a time to get feedback or critique from other designers or struggles with the feedback they receive? In a perfect world, we’re collaborating and happily giving and receiving feedback without ever taking offense to the critique of our work. What I’ve seen however is that some do struggle to get feedback and some struggle to not take feedback personally. What advice would you have for them?

Thank you Fem, now I understand the differences between a design Crit and design Review at your work place. Do you have design crits during work hours? because I see it very difficult to be implemented at my job, it would probably have to be after work or weekends.

Thank you, Femke!! Great video again! :) I wish I could know how to structure effective design crits with other designers in my early career.

Do you teach students too as this is a good balanced intro. Q: if we do not have multiple designers at the company do you have any tips on how to structure it with other people?

Hi friend! Do you have any tips on doing design crits in a more formal setting? For example as a part of a job interview. Would really appreciate it if you could do a live critique of Uber or any other app on the market with a large demographic. This would be helpful as I am preparing for my Facebook interview. Thank you for sharing! - Friend.

Hey Femke, thanks for the video :) What happens if some (or all) of the 3 twenty minute slots are not booked? Do the designers that have a slot take more time or is the meeting cut short (or skipped if no slots are booked)?

Hi Femke , I love your videos.. I see you are a NZ citizen working in Amsterdam. Do you need to apply for work visa to live in Amsterdam or your employer sorted it ? I am a UK citizen and wondering if I can apply for ux jobs abroad? thanks a lot

@@femkedesign lucky you Femke ... u got best of both the worlds with dutch passport .. I am originally from visakapatnam , India (actually a dutch colony back in the day ).. moved to London longtime ago.. yp Brexit messed things up for us here.. or researching doing a nomad career living in Bali or somewhere and taking remote design jobs ... but again graphic /branding jobs are easy to get .. not sure if remote UX jobs are feasible u see

How are you running Design Review at Uber? Which stakeholders attend and how often is it?

Hey Femke, thank you very much for your videos. I originally wanted to go straight into product design (I like the idea of creating products/solutions for the physical world) but not keen on a 4 year diploma route. Now I'm looking at he UX Design route. I'm located in Vancouver, BC. Would you be so kind and take a look at the Emily Carr UX Design Certificate (www.ecuad.ca/ux-design-certificate) and give me an opinion. If you can tell me a better route, I'd appreciate it too. Thanks in advance!
