Hi Sam, recently got 95% in my anatomy exam & want to thank you for the videos you make. I would drive into uni each morning listening to your videos & I found the way you explain things seemed to really stick & certainly helped in the exam! Thanks & keep up the excellent work 👍🏻

Unique delivery style - very enjoyable. Seeing an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to determine treatment for an L3-4 disc herniation that's affecting my left lower extremity enough to cause severe anterior thigh and medial leg pain, in addition to numbness. MRI confirmed the diagnosis -and it's a six week old injury (non-traumatic). Anyway that's why I stopped by to watch this video and so it turns out ... t'was exceptional - thank you.

Thank you so much for this! I’m a massage therapist and a surgical assistant. I have unexplained pain in my lower leg and that usually points to possible DVT so I had an ultrasound and yay, no DVT! So now I have to figure out what else it can be. That same day, I had pain all along the femoral artery, so I started digging into what could cause this and I found your video. Now I know where to start to begin to fix this problem. Stretching as your talking on this video! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos.

I can see my physical therapist rolling her eyes when I can reference my femoral nerve into the saphenous nerve, but really it's the area where it passes behind my Inguinal ligament that's the problem. I can palpate the Inguinal ligament on both sides. The involved (right) side ligament is round and feels like a rope. The left Inguinal ligament lays flat. Thanks for your wonderful instruction from someone who just wants to be a well informed patient.

I was just thinking about how much I would have enjoyed having you teach me Anatomy. You draw people in, engaging your Student into a Lecture that is leaving me with a better understanding of Anatomy. Thank you. (I am happily geeking out, while watching this video. I have to figure out how to settle down this pain in my R Quad/Vastus medialus. I am a Right Sided Hemi-parisis. Cool. This is helping me figure this out! Thanks!

You are a dream to watch and although I am not a medical student I am fascinated by anatomy and physiology! I was diagnosed with a cyst on the anterior part of my hip which they think is pressing on my femoral nerve so I can't lift my leg from the hip at all... we will see what the neurologist says I guess x

Thanks very much for this video. I had hip replacement surgery May 15th with the surgeon using an anterior approach. It is 3 and 1/2 weeks later and I still havefemoral nerve palsy. Your video is helping me understand that nerve and how it controls knee extension - which I cannot do.

Could a bulging or herniated disc cause pain in the femoral nerve and would clogged femoral vain in the triangle area make it difficult and very painful to walk. And sometimes cause the leg to give out?

Thank you for demonstrating this. I recently pulled a muscle in my right low back while lifting my dog into the car. I felt is rip like a zipper around my hip through my groin and down the top of my right thigh. I couldn't stand up straight for several days from the excruciating pain and I am just feeling better after a week and a half. I still feel pain in the groin when I lie down to sleep and have to sleep on my right side with the leg extended or bent. I hope this heals soon.

Can my neuropathic pain in the bottom of my foot and toes be caused by damage to my femoral nerve. I spent 5months on an ekmo machine and now have excruciating foot pain.

I have degenerative disk disease and osteoarthritis in my lower spine . I had a synovial cyst in between L4 and L5 and tear in either L4 Or L5 . It had been 5 years since that has been diagnosed with MRI . I had hip pain in my right hip which Osteo ruled out arthritis and any tears . But since then my hips have been stiffening up and I am having pain in hip and groin that goes down to my Knee and sometimes in my foot . I can not put my sock on any more with excrutiating pain .Feels like I am ripping my groin and inner thigh apart . Could this be this femoral Nerve ? The hip osteo also said I may have band problems or it was coming from my spine 5 years ago .He really din't know .

Hey Sam. Great video as always. Just wanted to correct you at 12:54, since the origin of the word "saphenous" is actually derived from the Arabic word "safin" "صافن" which means obvious. Cheers.
