I've seen photos of short clawed otters climbing up chainlink fences at zoos. I wonder why some of them have a drive to climb up stuff like that.

Our ferrets would do 1 of 2 things in this situation: 1. Go through the bars because they can squeeze flat and fit through things that about 2 inches wide. 2. Go find something to push in front of the gate, like a stool, box, etc.

The answer is simple, just have her gain weight. The edge things were to keep her out because she was still tiny skinny, now she’s too large to fit through the gap. Side note: Bingo was the one who beat the gates in the beginning, not Belle.

Yeah, Bingo was good at pushing up the bottom of the gates, which released them. He was good at opening the sliding doors and the one's that didn't latch.
