I would say either the ballestra lunge or the skip lunge. I have occasionally use the ballestra and rarely used the skip step during fencing, so getting the transition right was tricky, plus then staying focused and hitting a target. I did get there in the end though and will definitely look to incorporate the above techniques.

Years late comment here, apologies! This exercise seems great for point control but also distance management (if you let it swing), trying to hit on full extension and getting the timing.
