excellent stuff Alan. after we purchased a post knocker I realised it is real tradesmens job, to put up a decent looking fence takes a lot of practice!

You're dead right, Dan. Doing it is one thing. Doing it RIGHT is quite another!

Superb Alan , modern machines make the difference big time and I wonder how my late Fathers Unle managed doing the same on his farm at Little Asby .
@balmesh7 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Steve. I think the old timers managed by cutting some corners (the posts don't HAVE to be dead upright) and often they knew nothing of "leisure". My wife's grandfather was a farmer and never had a holiday in his life - and didn't want one!

@@balmesh How would they drive posts in back then though? Can you get the same rigidity on straining posts by digging holes instead of driving them in?
@MrPaul1f6 жыл бұрын
That bryce is a a seriously slick machine, as is the operator. The only sad thing is that with those not being creosted posts, all that effort and investment will be required again in less than 10 years. I absoloutely won't use anything other than creosote treated or sweet chestnut posts.
@balmesh6 жыл бұрын
Trouble is that just soaking them in creosote doesn't do the trick. You have to pressure-inject the preservative - and that costs! So I am told.

Rob Arthur For hitting power they are brilliant. But for getting into tight spaces and manouverability the protech machines are class.
