I compare Groove Tubes vs. the Tube Amp Doctor tubes in my Fender Blues Jr. III guitar - telecaster w/ Fender Texas special pickups.

The two major things that the TAD tubes had that the GT did not: 1) more clean headroom & 2) fuller bottom end. Groove tubes broke up quicker and sounded thinner.

I agree, the TAD tubes were a tad bit warmer on the low end, and it sounded like the GT were brighter actually

Im restoring a USA made Blues Junior right now. got the MOD reverb tank, buncha new screws/knobs. This is a very loud amp for its size, competes with a drumset. The only thing is, even with the highest possible gain setting, it just has no balls. The attack it has is so limp-wristed, I can bash on my strings and this thing is just squishy and weak. I'd love to see it hot-rodded somehow. I'm not a fan of getting distortion from pedals at all, I feel that should always come from the amp itself.

TAD are guaranteed for six months.

I believe new tubes have a break in period. Let them burn a couple of hours before drawing any conclusions.
