GOOD! Maybe now other guitarist will realize that FMIC has been selling us purely built crap since at least the 2000's

I need to get me some of that silastic mate, can you provide a link please?

Just google ‘neutral cure electronics RTV’. Depending on where you are depends on what options you have. Key thing is making sure it’s neutral cure as if it smells like vinegar, it’ll mess up the electronics.

cheers for the reply@@drgearaustralia. I'm in Adelaide. Ended up getting the Selleys marine silicone RTV as per a @BradsGuitarGarage vid from ages ago.

The best way to make any FMIC amp last is to have UL and European cert, compliant, double sided, 2oz copper boards cut and them stuff them with quality component.

Yes and then you add another 20% or more to the BOM and the final retail price goes through the roof. It’s a mid range amp, not a boutique thing with large margins. There are some simple changes that can be done to the model which result in a more reliable amp which Fender don’t implement whereas others do. That’s what this video was meant to highlight.
