To me the difference, at this particular settings of both amplifiers, are small and in my opinion it doesn't justify to replace speakers. I own two of these amplifiers, one is slightly modified after having added a standby switch at the front and an adjustable bias pot and cathode current meter for the 6v6 tubes at the back (bus is set to 40mA but I see the meter to jump full scale over 100mA if I set volume high and I play my guitar hard). I'm pretty sure that other settings will favour one speaker while other settings will favour the other speaker. This amplifier has 16 different voices and 16 effects that can be adjusted in level, plus amount of bass and treble. The number of combinations is 16x16=256, but the number of different sounds is close to infinite. I will trust Fender, because I'm sure that they selected the stock speaker for some good reasons. I will recommend not replace speakers, but I'm sure that an external cabinet with one, two or four 12 inch speakers will make these amplifiers sound much better, and as if power would be 300 watts instead of 15 watts because the 12 inch speakers are 102dB instead of 89dB (13dB difference equals 20 times the power).
