Mine is 20 years old and I still love it. I A/B'd my CT with a friend's new Tonemaster Twin and the Cyber Twin just nailed the Twin Reverb tone. These were great amps but I think many people thought they were to complicated. They really are very easy to use. I have my four favorite amps stored in the quick access feature and use the standard controls. They were expensive new but can be bought at bargain prices today. Great amp.

I've owned my Cyber Twin SE for ten years now, and I still love it! It never did everything they claimed it could, but it nails many classic amp sounds very well. Ten years going and I still think it's a terrific amp. I have given it the blind test to a few friends, and in more than 50% of the answers, they couldn't tell the difference between the CT SE and the amp it was supposed to be emulating.

Interesting that you have had your CT over 10 years and still think it's great. I have the original 1.3 version and really love it still. It's been gigged fairly often over the years and been quite reliable (have had to change the two tubes occasionally). Personally I don't use the amp model patches but us them to tailor-make my own sounds and tones. The CT is a very misunderstood amp imho but offers lots of scope to make great sounds if you are prepared to put the time in and experiment with it.

I've Just scored Cyber Twin SE, Soooo lucky the amp was basically un-touched , 10 yrs old, and the best amp,I've had in 30.yrs,, been there all, but .Within 2 days, it sold the heart of this guitarist. Took near 13 yrrs wait, damn worth it. Score of a life time. Sold by a Gentleman..G.

still think they were great, underrated amplifiers. have to remember that at the time , people were hard to adjust to modelling technology "oh, it's not warm enough" "digital can never sound like the old tubes"etc etc .. people always take time to adjust to new gear and put their misgivings about the older product sounding better until they will actually give it a try,But they sound great annd I'm now looking for a second.

Used Cyber-Twins claim a pretty penny. I don't know much about them but I'd stick with the trusty Johnson Millenium JM150. They're no longer in business, unfortunately, but they got it very right the first time with their modeling amp. You can pretty much dial in any amp ever made. With this amp and foot switch/board you wouldn't need any effects pedals. They were made right and with such care. Now this is just my opinion. The plus side of these amps, you can find them for around $350. You just can't go wrong.

I still reckon these are a decent amp, really versatile and full everything you really need, you’ve just gotta be willing to work, edit and be creative with your gear, if you are the results that can be achieved are excellent, most people are just to lazy and want a great sound immediately. You can pick these up really cheap nowadays, well worth buying if you find one cheap enough. I wish the Americans when doing a review such as this one just told you it’s features and demonstrated it normally and not like they’re talking to and teaching a class of 5yr old kids and with all the over hyped spiel and over the top bollocks they chat that makes them sound like total bellends!! Suppose me being British have a more down to earth chilled manor and like straight talking, no nonsense, believable, normal chat.

can someone explain what "tamber" is? related note: why can't this guy pronounce "timbre"?
@Melonheadinbed8 жыл бұрын
...and yes I know what timbre is.
@jemandthemystery5 жыл бұрын
Because it is correctly pronounced ’Tam-ber’ despite the spelling. It refers the the characteristic qualities of a sound that make it appealing (or otherwise) independent of other things like loudness or pitch.

Man, I had this amp. It was great when I couldn't afford different amps and effects pedals, and was great for a practice room. Once I started gigging, I realized how limited this amp was, even with the bazillion different effects.
