This is 1 of the few guitars which actually can work with Jimi Hendrix pedals. No squire guitar will work with the JH pedals. Fact! So your comment is stupid! The squire strats actually are up graded strats compared to vintage strats. The narrow necks can be used as necks which have excessive wood removed, cause who actually plays JAZZ chords during a song in 2017? Nobody. The pickups make MORE tone and the product is overall built with a $30,000 machine, which makes NO MISTAKES. Newer guitars DO MAKES OLD GUITARS OBSOLETE.

On a serious note though, I've noticed through the years of playing guitar and other instruments, a lot of players lack confidence because they don't have the best gear, they have the skill but are too scared their instrument is going to hold them back, but as a nice placebo effect this might boost their confidence enough to feel comfortable performing.

For an upside down guitar, I suppose it depends how Hard Core Jimmy you want to be. Also, you need to change the strap mount on the horn, and flip the nut. And, you will lose the neck dots. But other than that, rock on!!

On a slightly serious note I don't know why the tone and volume knobs are on the bottom for strats, or most guitars for that matter. I play a right handed strat flipped over and not restrung... the ability to do volume swells with my thumb while using all of my other fingers to play melodies is beyond beautiful.

This is a ridiculous video. He tried to play the squier poorly, with no style, and played the jimi strat much better to make it appear to be a better guitar. Omg you're completely right...apart from the reverse 70's headstock, different neck profile, upgraded pickups, vintage tuners, gloss polyester neck, aged pickup surrounds and knobs, reverse mounted pickups and included gig bag, it is exactly the same as a regular mex strat. It's not even that much more expensive. As the guy in the video says, it's not meant to be a replica , it's just a cool guitar with features inspired by Jimi's guitars.

It's an early JH strat, which means its a 1965 strat. You'll NEVER be able to make this guitar sound like the Woodstock sound, for example. For that sound, you'll need a 1968 model strat. This guitar here in the vid should do 'are you experienced' and 'BBC sessions' era sounds.

I disagree. At UK prices this guitar will cost you about £70 more than a MIM standard once you factor in upgrading the pickups to the '65 pickups which are in the Hendrix model. You then get a guitar which is a bit more unique than the millions of MIM standards which are out there. Yes if you're a Hendrix purist you won't be satisfied, nor if you're a staunch "Made in America" person, or if you don't like Hendrix anyway. But as an upgraded MIM it makes some sense.
