I need some MD socks like our bro Mr. Lasek. Grew up bmxing and skating in Maryland in the 80s-90s. Raced bmx for Rockville BMX. Bought my 1st board from Sunshine House in Bethesda 1981( Cab’s 1st board without concave, tracker trucks, orange powell V-IV mini cubics). My first vert drop in was at Wiggies. Skating and the DC Hardcore scene in the 80s saved me from a life of complete douchebaggery. Building and “not” buying was the way of life if you wanted ramp skate in MD in the 80-90s. I love that our generation of Marylanders has been so influential in inspiring the world to extreme sports; Pastrana, Block and Lasek...MD Royalty! Slams are taking longer to recover from these days so I’m on the hunt for an rs to rally when I’m recovering ;). Thanks for reppin MD to the world Bucky. You do us proud. Long live Lasek! Hey, maybe it is an idea to put the measurements on the cardboard template and post it here on top as a sticky, so the many people with wide body's gc8 can use it as base measurements to make there own. Great job by the way. I have done the same with mine about a year a go.

awesome idea.!!!!!.... looks clean, it's (assumedly) lightweight, much quieter than alum., not too expensive or time cunsuming, and would be super easy to add future venting for discs,trans/oil coolers,etc........saved this one in my subie-schtuff list, and i will be doing something very similar for my inner fenderwells.......thanks tons..........................many love, much props

WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK SOLUTION. Hey Bucky i've had the same problem with my bugeye WRX. Mine got damaged by impact (had the wiper arms up cleaning the windshield, then lifted my hood to detail it while the arms were still up and... shit broke. Its a total pain in the ass when your wiper arms are just flopping all over the place and onto your A Pillar lol. Anyway, whats wrong is one of the ball and socket joints on the wiper link has broken its nylon fitting that takes up the freeplay. I ordered a used one off ebay or something from a wrecking yard and it had the same exact problem. I ended up just ordering one from the subaru dealer, I think it was like $120. After replacing the wiper link and re-using the old wiper arms, i've found that my driver side wiper arm now has a specific groove to it and it doesn't park itself where it previously used to (sit's about 3/4" higher on the windshield.) Since the wipers now work properly again, i haven't felt like buying a new wiper arm to get it to park where it originally did. But overall, you need a new wiper link assembly and its probably worth your time to just go through the dealer for it, obviously you can just re-use the motor. Hope this helps, I enjoy the content.

Definitely wiper linkage. It’s a complete assembly. Just replaced it on my bug eye wrx. Mine got so bad the wipers went past the A pillar one day. Very easy to replace. Got mine from the dealer.
@koozmusic4 жыл бұрын
You can get the bushings to fix these for like $5 from AutoZone. I fixed this issue on my '03 Forester using them. They are part of a generic kit. Search "Windshield Wiper Linkage Bushing Assortment." It took a bit of manhandling to press them in, but it's been like 2 years since I did this and they're still working great. There's an 8-page thread on NASIOC titled "Wiper Problem" with further details.

The wiper assembly issued happened in my 04 WRX. There was a plastic piece that wore out and caused the whole assembly to move. I believe its called a washer or a bushing. Fix that soon because the driver side wiper can roll over the A pillar and scratch your paint. That's what I can remember off the top of my head. Edit: Might have found a picture of the culprit.

Great video Bucky!! I just watched all 23 of BNB over the past 3 days, lol. I like how even though if you wanted to throw crazy money at this and have someone else build it every step of the way you're truly making it your own and doing it yourself. At the end of the day that's what emotionally attaches you to a car. I had a 04 STi for 5 years and the mods I did along the way truly made that car part of me. My focus has shifted a little bit now. I don't have the STi anymore, I have a bunch of motorcycles and a nice newer truck to haul them around in, but I dream of the day I can do a build similar to this out of my garage, my way. Keep up the good work Bucky! From one skater to another 🤙🏼
