I'm playing a Squier Jaguar SS w/"Deep Talking" flats. No comparison to your setup, but the Xaviere basses have intrigued me. I may buy a Jazz copy from them. Great video!

theres a kid on here that has a good review on the jazz version, he loves it!! i swear by these, for the price, you cant go wrong, the pickups are really great as well, at least the P is really nice! im assuming the J will be great in its own way! I bet that Squier with those flats is warm as all get out!! :).....Thanks Richard!!

Put a bit of clear nail lacquer on the height adjustment screws on the Fender bridge after you set it up, it should stop them unscrewing.

thanks, but i got a really cheap bridge on amazon and used the screws from that, worked great! Appreciate the tip!

Serviceable purple Loctite for the shitty Fender bridge screws. Those Xaviere and Earl Slick P basses seem like bargains.

Play the baseline from the middle of Rhyme of the ancient Marriner.. Is that the lowest price you have ever paid for any bass. You should put together a medley of like 10 songs and do like 5 seconds from each song and twist them all together. Thanks for sharing your thought and opinions.

ShoeManShoe68 no I've spent around $130 on a bass, but wasn't as nice as this one. And I'll get that video up for you as well, lol. I'm not much of a cover guy though. I play mostly original stuff

Great review! The Xaviere bass sounds darn good and looks great too. One has to ask themselves is the price difference between the two really worth it? I think not.

I have an xaviere DLX. It took a second to come around. At first I was seriously doubtful about it because i could not get intonation on it no matter how much I tried. At this point I'm conceding that I simply need to go get it setup by a pro. Sound is great on it and it renders my Cort P-bass useless when it comes to versatility and comfort. EDIT/Update: I recently swapped out the nut to this model: ABM Height Adj. Brass Nut for Bass 1-9/16"x5/32"x3/16" Allparts BN-0889-008. Although the fit isn't 100% i was able to get intonation. In the end it makes me think that xaviere basses need fretwork. I needed the adjustable nut so I can lower the nut height which caused some pretty bad fret buzz. I eventually found a happy medium point without having to do any luthier work on it.

Zay-vee-ier.... not Ex-zay-vee-ier. Sweet bass. You scored. When you purchase a Fender at $1000... $600 of that is.. the name.

Xaviere, thank you!!! i appreciate it!!!

i have NOT purchased a Fender for $1000, lol, THUS the reason for the video!!! And i did not call Xaviere, Zay-veeee--ier! i called it by the real name, lol!!!!!

I had that same problem with my MIM Fender P Bass...Every time I played it ALL the saddles would lower and the screws would actually fall out...this was with Standard tuning. I traded it in for a J bass instead...and for some reason, didn't have that problem. Also...can we get an update on this bass? How does it sound through your main amp? I am considering purchasing a Xavier DLX bass and would like to know how your Xavier is holding up over time. Thanks!

dead poinsettia yeah, I ended up getting new screws, worked out really well

I have tapewound strings on it and it's probably the most inspiring instrument I own.

Hey, 11 months later, still great!!!! i see no reason to shy away from GFS basses!!! i know ill get another soon!! sorry for the late reply!!! Much luck, friend!!! Thanks!!!

I've had my Xaviere P bass for several years now. GFS uses alnico magnets in their pickups, like a better Fender (the cheaper ones use ceramic) so you get a warmer fuller tone that I'd put up against better Fenders. (I actually put in a set of GFS Alnico 11s in my strat, for a smooth creamy tone that hands down beats the noiseless that were in there. anyway...) My only problem was with the unfinished ends of the fretwork, but a metal file handled that. It stays in tune, even left out all the time. I'm not having an omg is that a ding heart attack every time I pick it up and for the price? Dang. The GFS tolex case is junk. My other bass (babied) is a Guild Starfire 1, just from a quality for the buck comparison. IMO, this is an entry to mid level bass that you won't feel (from quality or tone) that you'll have to upgrade from. Good choice.

How has this bass held up for you?? I just stumbled upon it today on GF, and that’s actually my ideal color combo. Thinking of making the switch from my classic vibe pbass
@jaredlook2626 жыл бұрын
And how did it hold up playing through your main amp? Thanks for the video! Kinda sold me on the Xaviere
@spikesvideos6 жыл бұрын
Jared Look it's been great thus far!! They are really nice basses for the money. I would definitely say try one out, but keep your current basses just in case. But I like this basses better than squier basses, thanks!!

Through the main and it's good but the pickup I find is really bassy, which is good but you definitely need to change your eq, imo

just a quick update, i still love it, still a great bass and has held up over time, i will say i have a little fret pop out the fingerboard but thats probably mostly my fault, very dry apartment, but overall i really like it a lot!

Is the neck on the Xaviere standard p-bass or more similar to a jazz?.
@spikesvideos6 жыл бұрын
ya know, ive only compared it to my Fender P bass, so i would say, close to a P Bass, if not right on, sorry, thats a great question!!! didnt think of that! ...but after a quick comparison i would have to say more like a P bass, hope this helps you!

Update!!!!!!! The fender was provided with GARBAGE screws in the bridge!!!!! i replaced the screws and problem solved!!! So thats a huge shot against Fender!!!! The difference in price, Come' on Fender!!!! get with it!!!

i wanna add that the Fender pickup is a beautiful sounding pickup!! it really is, it is better than the Guitar fetish pickup, but price? hmm....and the Matte finish on the Fender Noir bass is just killer, i swear it adds something different to the sound!! Look more into Matte finishes!!!!! i think you'll be surprised!! But for the price, you can have 3 modded GF Basses for the Fender cost of one!!! So, go figure!! lol

I have the noir fender bass and having some problems with the bridge too. I’m an idiot on setting up and stuff like that, what kind/size of screw did you get?
@spikesvideos6 жыл бұрын
i actually bought a cheap bridge from amazon, just look for one that has fender specs, or look for a fender replacement bridge and use those screws, i think the Fender bridge just had a bad run of screws, which is crazy, but NOT good for their name, for sure, but easily fixable!! hope this helps!!
@spikesvideos6 жыл бұрын
you dont need to be a pro at setup to fix your bridge problem, fairly easy!!! this is my second reply, so make sure you see the 1st for quick fix!! Thanks!!!!

@@spikesvideos no argument there but the bass ultimate goal is to sound the part the fender sounds the part. I’m not sold on the sound but I may buy one and slap some fender pickups in it.

for the 500 dollar price difference i dont see why not!! i think you'll be surprised!
@arcanesanctuary3 жыл бұрын
Well I can only go on sound and looks, sound and looks wise I’d save the 500 too haha. I also would purchase another classic vibe over a mim fender.
