We happened to have a few vintage Tweed amps in stock so we thought we'd crank them up so you can hear the difference in these terrific amps for yourselves! We hit each amp with a 1965 Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson Jimmy Page Les Paul Standard so you could hear some vintage single coils as well as humbuckers. While we were making this video, a 1959 Gibson ES-335 walked in the door and we just had to hear it so that's in there too. We hope this video gives you an idea of the different tones you can get out of these killer tweed amps. Please share this video and subscribe to our KZbin channel. Pony up!
Amps:
1949 Fender Tweed Deluxe
1958 Fender Tweed Harvard
1959 Fender Tweed Princeton
1955 Fender Tweed Wide Panel Champ
1958 Fender Champ
Guitars:
1965 Fender Stratocaster
1997 Gibson Jimmy Page Les Paul Standard
1959 Gibson ES-335 w/ Bigsby
Some songs played or teased in the video:
Message To Love - Jimi Hendrix, Band of Gypsys
The Weight - The Band
Down By The River - Neil Young
Fluffhead - Phish
Angel - Jimi Hendrix
Keep on Growing - Derek & the Dominoes
Have you made it this far down in the description field? Wow! Thanks for reading and watching! Please subscribe to our channel and share this video with all of your guitar loving, tone tweaking and gear hounding friends!

This video is a gem I’ve watched it so many times, it’s so great to hear how unique each amp sounds, all seem to have a gritty driven tone that’s close to a fuzz, I haven’t heard a fuzz pedal come close to replicating it tho so cool, the Harvard is my fave!

The little '56 Princeton in the picture on the left actually taught me good right hand technique. It was my first encounter with real touch sensitivity and output tube dynamics. If you play hard, you get what Billy Gibbons calls "4 flat tires on a muddy road", and then when you start to learn about the attack of the right hand, these amps begin to reveal their full dynamic range. they have everything from clean to mean to scream, If you know how, you can make them sound any way you want.

Forget the amps, who is that guitar player???? I absolutely hate amp demos done by crappy guitar players cause you dont get the real vibe, but this guy has it together to match the amps awesome tone! I dig the Hendrix pull for the very first sound sample! Marlon

Thank you for referencing these amps! I used this video to see how close the Lovepedal High Power Tweed Twin pedal gets to the actual tweed tones. I gotta say they did a great job! After hearing your demo I've case to our base said pedal. It has a little more tweed tone than the Wampler '57. I will be getting the Les Lius soon to round off my tweed era sounds.the Stevie mod is another one I'll be getting to fully capture the 50's as well as the 60's sounds! Thanx for the demo! Great chops as well!

The fucking Champ at the end was totally bathing in juicy goodness. It sounded disgustingly good and just oozed so much character and color. They all did really. The distinct fender sound was present on all of them. But daamn man. That little amp was killing it! And the player was killin too. Very tasty and smooth playing and execution. Very good demonstration of the color of these amps. Nice variety.

Thank you, Seriously, Thank You to everyone from the player to the production and the proud amp owner to the payer of the bills = thank you for a very well put together video showcasing what, after a 25 year long journey I've come to realize = tweeds produce the finest overdrive there is! I also went on a grueling five year journey searching for the fuzz tone in my head. I found my fuzz pedal and yes It sounds like a melting down tweed magically controlled in just the right places by just the right amount to be versatile and incredible sounding lol. Now I know where the core fuzz tone I had in mind came from. I'm blown away and Marshall's may well have their place but they're never going to sound the same to me. It's as if everything after that sound was a shadow of those kings our player coaxed into speaking to the people. Couldn't have been better played for showing off those amps IMHO. Sorry for all the fanfare I'm putting in my comment but this is literally the biggest and most exciting discovery I've made when it comes to tone.

I'll jump in here in case anyone is interested where this was recorded. I agree with your point about a room mic point 100%. I LOVE nothing more than a good room sound for just about everything. However, we were not working in what you'd call a great "live room environment". We recorded this in my old office that has a drop ceiling so a close mic was our best option. That being said, we hope it's a fun video that sheds a little light on some of the different tweed varietals.
