You can tell by the spark in his eyes when he talks about the '54, he's totally in love with this thing. That already makes him a winner. No matter what people think of him or his music or whatever - the fact that he's kept the same excitement for his Fenders and for playing the way he does just makes him a winner at life. It's so hard to stay spirited and passionate in life. Nobody can do it. Some people can.

I met and still have the guitar pick Yngwie gave me after a gig in 85. I met him and Jens that night. Both took the time to spend time with the half a dozen of us that hung around at 2 in the morning. A middle of the summer gig that the walls of the club sweated. Yngwie poured Heineken on us that were down in front. They threw a towel over Jen's head, and he played flawlessly blinded. We stood there dumbfounded by what we saw and heard. One hell of a night I will never forget. "Rising Force" is an album that shaped my own playing back then and is just as powerful today as it was then. He is my "Hendrix" of my generation.

Yngwie picked his lane very early on and mastered it. To still be relevant and stay that consistent throughout almost 4 decades is an amazing accomplishment in itself. He never tried to change to fit whatever was trendy at any given time. He stayed true to himself and his playing style. That is extremely admirable. He is just as sharp today as he was on day 1. I hope he keeps shredding away for another 30 years

Even though Yngwie is still working on the same record, all these years later, he's still the original monster shred neo classical player. Yngwie, single handedly, kicked off the entire neo classical shred genre. He had so many players rethinking technique and going into or back into the practice room for hundreds of hours to get (or try and get) that neo classical shred style down... Truly a ground breaking player and innovator. Also, Yngwie is an absolute guitar icon and unquestionably a guitar force of nature. He was a gigantic inuence on me, as a huge fan of rock guitar music when Alcatrazz - No Parole From Rock And Roll came out! Still, a terrific album with SO MANY amazing solos. The trailer solo from Suffer Me is still one of the best solos ever recorded on electric guitar... LEGENDARY player.

I have always liked Malmsteen; from the first time I heard him in the 80s until the present. He is an absolute guitar genius. He plays with passion, and his music / style of music has no equal. Say what you want about his personality it doesn’t matter, what does matter is that the man can play his guitar. He has weathered the storm in a business that has seen a lot of professional guitar greats for what ever reason come and go. He is still here, and he is still inspiring future guitarist with his talent and music.

There is some amazing concert footage of Yngwie Malmsteen with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. It strikes me that Yngwie as a musician is on the same level as great classical musicians, but the Fender Stratocaster looks like it belongs in that setting too. The Stratocaster looks fantastic in that formal setting, and Yngwie makes the sound of the guitar blend in like it always belonged in that context. I wonder what Leo would have thought to see and hear his instruments being played with a symphony orchestra?

If there's only one suggestion or request I would like to add is, please add another Fret to make it 22, because sometimes I can't use it on other songs with a solo reaching for 22 frets. "I could not ask for more." Next sentence "If there's only one suggestion or request I would like to add..." You asked for more. 😅

@@TavisAllen Haha, asking is different from suggestion. I mean, I'm already content for what it is. A "suggestion" is making room for improvement. Just like making the "better" the "best".😉

@@2good2betrue3 Staying light-hearted, but were we to further this conversation, semantics and hierarchy would come into play. I've never played a Yngwie Strat, but would like to someday, despite me being predominantly an acoustic/classical guitar player.

@@TavisAllen Hope you can have one in the future, that would be great mate. I encourage you to own or buy a Yngwie Strat. I also love classical guitar and acoustics, and have collected different electric and acoustic guitars. (16 electric, 2 acoustics). Among them, the Yngwie Strat feels uniquely different in a good way all because of the scalloped frets. I can't express it with words, but it really feels good to play, even at high action which is 2.5mm at 12th fret (I prefer ALL my guitars to be set-up at very low action - 1mm). Fender YJM sig is the only exception., so try it, you will surely love it.👌Have a nice day.🙂
