For future reference *for anyone* - To remove things like an axle nut with a beefy impact, it's important an IMPACT rated socket is used, not just because of safety but because an impact socket has more material to hammer against. While rust might have made it a bit tougher, the socket you use can make quite the difference when removing.
@EVoMVP
@EVoMVP 2 ай бұрын
Not only an impact socket, but depending on torque ratings definitely use a weighted impact socket, commonly used on crankshaft bolts but useful on anything high torque.

They’re studs not lugs and they help with having to run spacers or specific wheels for the track and it definitely makes it easier to get the wheels on and off. Longer lugs would actually help cover the studs from sticking out and most aftermarket wheels do take up the space even without a spacer.

Nice job on the build especially since Porsche would love to find something really expensive for you to fix. The keyfob could be just a programming thing, but from what I know, that can only be done at a Porsche dealership and will cost you about $300 to $500 and consists of them plugging in their "special" device and spending about 10 minutes working on your car. I did it for mine because I only had one key and that didn't help me sleep at night.

The heat could be debris in the ducts/debris in the heat exchanger itself. Not on the inside, just the radiator portion of it. It's a pretty common issue with older cars and cars that are parked under trees for a long time.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but Euro cars are super sensitive to voltage drops (from a failing battery). Do yourself a huge favour and get a battery tender/trickle charger. Leave it on charge when the car's in the garage. Never have a flat battery, and it should extend the battery life. Your car, and your sanity, will thank you for it...

Use an impact socket next time and it should work wonders. If even that doesn't work, wax and heat is the best penetrant, Id only use pb blaster and other penetrants on heat sensitive parts that you can't melt the wax with. Even a crayon work and it cleans up a lot easier than petroleum products IMO. Machine shops love wax for penetrants, always keep a spare crayon on me.

frist heating the axle nut for a longer time (at least it looks like that as depicted in the video) - then reusing and tightening them with the impact? pleas do no do this stuff again the heat if to much is introduced (and that can happen dast with those blow torches) can easily damage the seals on the wheel berings and the tightening torque of the axle nut sets the preload of the wheel bearing - to low or to high preload can wear out the wheel bearing prematurely
