This is the now y’all. Elegance means something different than it did before. Fashion is a response and Kim is responding accurately. There is undeniably an effortless cool here. What lacked in his resort collection and is present here is a loud and clear voice. It’s street but still Fendi, it’s kimono but still Fendi, it’s Halston but still Fendi. There are a thousand references, but they’re distilled so finely. This is the mark of a deft designer, there is a level of familiarity…but it’s elegantly done. It pays homage to the different artisans that have come before but it’s now, it’s tomorrow. He’s truly speaking through fashion like Phoebe Philo did over a decade ago, in my opinion. Minimal chic, but maximal impact. Wearable but unique. Sleek but touched by artisanal hands. Bravo.

What I had a problem with watching this collection were two things, the horrible footwear, ( and before everyone attacks me, I do realize the footwear went with the mood of the clothes) but it seemed so un-Fendi , which leads me to the second issue, the equally horrible models cast in this show, ( seemed like a few struggled walking in the boots and clogs, one model took hers off, which was smart of her, to avoid tripping or falling- remember how seasons ago several models struggled wearing those sky high slingbacks with socks at Prada) watching these models actually made me want to see Kendall and Gigi, lol,

IMHO Kim Jones BROUGHT IT for this runway!!! I'm loving the color story, the flow, the grounded lightness, the slits in the fabric mimicking the slits in the furs that made Fendi so famous... really really good.

Pros: Wearable and 90’s streetwear with a mild kabuki feel. Think Daytime Bjork. The mini purse necklaces are adorable and covet-worthy. Cons: THE HAIR. The weird bulky double purses. The muted beiges with sateen colors.

After commenting on Gucci, Balenciaga and Versace this too is also not it. the whole Fendi collection reminded me of what the brand AREA would be doing and if Jacquemus experimented with subtle mettalics and florals which I dont think my idea of Fendi would be about in my head. I always thought of fendi as a brand that loved furs, leather experimental design, monograms, neutrals, mystery with sex appeal, girl boss, for some reason a girl casually getting coffee who loves luxury but still wants comfy casual and a play on classic or vintage silhouettes like if you were to mix Tom Ford tailoring and Prada SS 2011 we would get a really Nice version of FENDI

Total disappointment. Fendi was my escape island in the world of modern weird fashion. But this collection does not have the femininity, elegance, classics and chic for which I was devoted to this brand. This summer I will wear the last ss22 collection 👍

I really like the green, but it seems like Fendi didn't get the 2023 memo of body inclusivity, that's a big fault for a brand like Fendi.

As a custom tailor to women of differing sizes, I will say that not every brand is for every body. Some designers understand how and what to design for different figures, others do not. Creating a silhouette and sizing it up is rarely successful. No matter the figure, wear the brands that understand this.
