why cant people demonstrate it by holding the compass in their hand or even in the video? i still dont get how to hold the compass...should i get out the house face my door or should i stay in the house and face the enterance door. i am very impaired when it comes to directions...when i drive i dont understand when the GPS says go north...im like wheres north...i wish everything came with a built in compass.

forget about compass,.....in the summer at about 6 o'clock (in the morning)sun rises from East, at 12 o'clock the sun is in the South and at 18:00,the sun is in the West.....the oposite to South is North.....if you want to identify a room, go in that room at this hours(6, 12 and 18)and check if you can see the sun...if you can see it at 6(in the morning),your room belongs to East....and so on.....in the same manner you can identify the other cardinal points (NE,SE,SW,NW)....The hours for that should be between 6 and 12(10 o'clock for SE for example).....but first you have to identify the main cardinal points.....

Literally open your door, look out and hold the compass so that the top arrow is pointing ahead of you/away from you. Make sure the top arrow is set to due North (where the colored arrow below is) before you start. If you're confused about this, it's important you learn how to use a compass (there are hundreds of videos on yt about how to use a compass that have nothing to do with Feng Shui). Everyone should know how to take a compass reading, as it is dead useful if you like to hike, camp, or drive without GPS.

How do you read a compass please? Is 0 degree point closer to me while holding the compass in front of me or the further away from me with the 180 degree point being the nearest to me, please?

erm... that's not really how you read a compass. If you're using a manual one you just need to make sure that the compass needle is aligned to the North. So in essence, the needle will point to the north no matter how you orientate your body

can the bagua map be use for each section of the house? and area? like in a living room I have the computer desk and or tiny office section within the same area as the living now if I mentally and or Physical divide the living room and the computer area can they have there own bagua map within in that same space? can that be possible? If this makes sense! in other words instead of using one Bagua Map for the whole house if is possible to divide for a section and or each area? with each area and or section being it's own bagua map with all the elements for each area?

We have activity on all 4 sides of the house.. the window side is a busy road, the right there is a garden and a pond and then a lake, the left that road continues, the front again there is a playground.... Now which side should be the facing when all sides are yang energy?

You mean all four sides of your building are surrounded by busy roads? I think what Safrina means is the busiest "road" (used by cars) and not busy with people activity.

What if the street your adress is named after bends around & faces 2 sides of your property... Where then is the front?

Thank you for the video. Since this is key to Everything else we do, just about... It's been a real question for me too. I have a house that has no doorway to the street facing side of my home and must pass the entrance to the kitchen to get to what I call the front door since it enters the living room. The Yang is more prominent on the driveway/street side (East) and kitchen (South) where the gravel of the neighborhood street announces all movement. But the door I want to use is on the opposite side of the house. There is a (1/2) - wrap around porch passing the kitchen entrance to access the living room entrance. I really could use your expertise on this Very important matter. To change from West to East for a Period 7 home is drastic and I don't want to risk a year of trial and error for guesswork. Would my home be an exception or are we to stick with the street name side?

+yinyan247 Hi there, the feng shui lineage that I'm a part of ( Tan Yang Wu school of feng shui ) doesn't do the 3X3 grid. However, if you want to do what is the mainstream technique, you can take your layout and divide it into equal 3X3 boxes. All the best!

+mspixiedust100 Hmmm... that is tricky, you may need to look at other factors before you determine this. Without more info I'd still be leaning towards the side of the street as your facing. With that said, how busy is the side of the front door compared to the side of the street? Which side is the most yang?

+mspixiedust100 So the front door is the apartment's front door or YOUR front door? You take the compass reading at the apartment's front door. So if your apartment building itself has a front door that is facing the parking lot but is on the opposite side of the street name.... is there a side of the building that has the address written on it? Also if the parking lot is low to low-medium activity as you said, the yang side is still the street side.

Nalayani Nalayani We need to read the degree to determine the 24-mountain directions - this is based on CLASSICAL feng shui - the way feng shui was practiced back in olden China. ANY feng shui schools that don't ask you to do a compass reading is fast food feng shui - makes you THINK you're doing feng shui but it really isn't! Let me know if that clarifies your confusion.

I think she meant not to start with superimposing the bagua on the home or building. We have to find the facing direction of the home/building first, then superimpose the bagua, so we'll know what corner belongs to what direction of the compass. I hope this helps =)
