Had mine for a couple of months, really like it. Always carry an AA light as back up. I have to say that Fenix seem to surpass olight and nitecore when it comes to quality.

Great EDC. I used mine after the last tropical storm knocked out power for days. Perfect for going room to room in our office building. Also dim enough to read LCD screens without washing them out. I ditched the pocket clip and use a rat tail lanyard. This light will fit easily in your pocket. I also like that you can get batteries almost everywhere.

Working as security in mostly nightshifts for huge objects who had to patrol through office buildings and modern manufacturing facilities with nobody in them, I just used my tiny CRI TIP from nitecore. Its basically a keychain light and usb rechargable. Charged it one time throughout my shifts just to keep it full. Never understood the flashlight craze and therefore drastically increasing prices. Same with knifes. People just lack proper hobbies and start collecting BS out of boredom. And the sellers greed for these people ruin it for all the Normal people who want something good and affordable. Now I have to pay around 100 bucks for a proper reliable and functional flashlight that isnt junk, even thoug it just was 30 bucks 10 years ago

Sorry to spoil some of the excitement here, but the runtimes listed for alkaline cells on this product are VERY misleading! This is a very nice AA flashlight, but you're simply not going to get 3.75 hours at 350 lumens from 2 AA alkalines. What they're actually meaning is that you'll have "some" light for 3.75 hours at that setting, but like the old incandescents, it will continue to get dimmer as the battery depletes. The Ni-Mh (i.e.: Eneloop) times are much more realistic as those tend to drain on a much flatter curve, giving you a more consistent output over the life of the battery. This is why Fenix recommends Ni-Mh for best performance, even though they sometimes appear to have shorter runtime. Sure, alkalines will work fine on the lower settings, but they hate to be pushed hard and will drop off quickly in brightness if you do.

I puchased this flashlight and really like the output. The low and medium intensity settings are surprisingly far reaching and usable. I absolutely love this. The high settings are equally impressive and surprisinglg long lasting. The only thing I found slightly annoying is that the battery cells are rattling a bit inside the tube. The older, and smaller 1AA battery models - E11 and E12, that I also have and absolutely love, do not have this slightly annoying problem. Notwithstanding, i feel that the comfortably long running time and perfect (in my view) power settings, fully compensate for the small rattle. You will, however, hear it if you run, shake the flaslight, or bump it slighly sideways. Cheers!

The E12 has the hat capable clip and is only a single AA battery so it's a much better fit. I can't imagine having the weight of the E20, especially that far forward, pulling down on my hat brim.

I admit i am a big fan of fenix & Thrunite flashlights, I carry the E20 for work and is great hard wearing light, lost count of how many times i have dropped it onto concrete or steel plate flooring still works perfectly no cracked the lense just chipped the finish. My backup light is the Fenix E12 single AA, 5 lm for 70hrs, 30lm for 13hrs and 130lm for 1hr great companion backup light with battery compatability. If you want a reversable pocket clip, higher output or firefly modes i would suggest looking at the ThruNite Archer 2A V3 ethier NW and CW.

I'm just starting in flashlights! I have had a one AA battery streamlight for a really long time, but I saw a limited edition Olight with one AA and 400 lumens! It comes in colors and I picked green to match incoming Kershaw Dividend composite blade that I found out about on Gideon's Tactical.. I'm going to have a self made rig to carry both EDC using olive drab kydex and leather. It will be like a pocket protector item and I'll out an Ulticlip so I can always fit it somewhere on or near me with backup batteries.

I’m an Olight guy! I like my Fenix lights, as well as my nitecore lights, but my klarus and thrunites have been disappointing! Well my thrunite TC 36 works well, but my TC15 was a failure twice! Olight gives me the high lumen output I want and like, at reasonable prices in my opinion.

The runtimes on this light are ridiculous! Im going to buy it for that reason alone. I own 3 streamlights and love them, a 1000 and a 350 lumen and a microstream. The micro fits perfect on my leatherman case and the 1000 tactical light is great, but i might replace my ProTac 2aa with this light.

As of today, according to Fenix website info, Max Lumens runtime include reduced levels due to temp or protection mechanism. Actual runtime of highest lumen is only ~30 mins. So your current flashlight is not bad at all.

I am currently switching between the e20 and wowtac w1.. both very good lights, bit if you need more lumens for a period of time i find the fenix awsome because it doesnt turn down like most of the lights, and the batteries you get everywhere cheap :) i havent changed the batteries often, i like it very much. But the wowtac w1 is very good for short edc situations and for 20 dollars with usb rechargeable a no braner, would recommend to give it a try :) Thanks and cheers 😊

One of my favorite EDC 2aa lights, "tactically" no. Streamlight or nitecore in that use for me. Streamlight and nitecore have better throw, fenix has more flood. Like all three depending on my needs at the time, current streamlight 2aa is 250 lumens. Il-1aa is a great light too.

The manual lists longer runtimes on alkaline batteries as compared to NiMH rechargeable. That is bit puzzling as several online articles argue that the NIMH batteries can maintain higher voltages longer so even if their voltage and capacities are lower in a device they will last 3 times or so longer than alkaline batteries. This is true for taking camera shots. Can you please explain why alkaline batteries have much higher run times for this flashlight? Thanks in advance
@spamcan9208
@spamcan9208 2 жыл бұрын
I think someone screwed up because other models show the nimh out performing alkalines. You are correct, their voltage curve is relatively flat and it can sustain it much longer than alkalines. I really like my Eneloops for my lights.

You realize "tac lights" are intended to be used on weapons? In those cases you want tight, bright beam pattern to focus on what you're pointing at, not general area illumination. EDC is just used to signify a more general light, wider beam pattern, and reduced throw for a given power.

@@paradoxicalcat7173 In general the word "tactical" is overused marketing gibberish. I wouldn't blindly trust a light that claims to be tactical either. Only if it's got the appropriate features and is from a reputable company and has been tested would I mount one on a gun.
