I did my first water bottle today - it's a gift for a friend and it's perfect. I purchased the supplies you recommended, followed your instructions, fixed up my rotisserie with a ledge to rest the bottom on and held my breath as I applied the epoxy. I'm officially hooked! Thanks so much for this video.

I was wanting to share our rig with you someday, but can't seem to add pictures in the comments... we use a rotisserie just as you but had a disc cut out of leexan and mounted 4 threaded rods to it so we can roll 4 at a time. With the thick layer of epoxy you are now able to apply with the rolling cups, the finish is unbelievable isn't it?! Lay that stuff on there thick, then we put a heat lamp shining on them and the epoxy is cured in 4 hrs tops👍😁 I will throw a video together if you're interested, doing 4 at a time is such a time saver.

Yeah, I seen another on facebook the other day that had 8 mounted on a sawblade. I could do those but most want to see how to just build the regular ones and the parts left over I might do it soon who knows. Very Cool Tho. I dig the drone over the campground, which drone is it?
@TomOB767
@TomOB767 8 жыл бұрын
The drone is a Yuneec q500, that's a building aspect of life going for licensing to fly those legally and have started building a business for that. The cups we do under a different name(not self promoting on your site, respect) and finally we own and operate a landscape business in Florida. I have a buddy with a laser who cut the lexan for my 4 cup rotisserie. It took some trial and error to get it right but it works perfectly now... And try the heat lamp and cure the epoxy quicker.. It has had no adverse effects on the hardness or clarity of the epoxy.

The play that you have at 3:32 is because you have that piece on backwards. Flip it around so that the small side of the collar is towards the motor. Put it up against the hole and THEN you slide the mounting bracket on. The little lip on the small side of the collar keeps it in place once you slide the bracket on. Then you won't need twist ties to hold it tight. Just flip that collar around and you're set

Hi Ryan thank you so much for this I made my cup Tisserie but my cup keeps on falling off that foam piece when it turns how can I prevent this from happening? Next question is so I needed to turn it off so wouldn't fall off and during the night it formed drip marks how do I take those drip marks off to reapply another coat
@Fentertainment
@Fentertainment 7 жыл бұрын
I made a deluxe one with multiple cups. It prevents a lot of the problems people have.
@eileenshalam7096
@eileenshalam7096 7 жыл бұрын
But what do I do if I do not want to make multiple cup and an answer about the drip marks please?
@Fentertainment
@Fentertainment 7 жыл бұрын
So the drip marks are forming because the cup is at a slant and the epoxy hasnt dried enough to not drip. In order to removed the drips and runs you would need to sand it down and then add another coat. This is being said because the cup is only supported on one end. The reason its dropping off the foam could be the foam is not placed centered on the rotisserie shaft and the gravitational pull keeps dropping the cup to the lowest point of the rotation. You may be able to try a pool noodle. I have since started using pool noodles since they hold the cup better than the foam did.

Kaitlyn, As I type this its turning on a project I hope to have out this weekend and will be action packed wink wink! There are others who have posted on facebook that they took it a step further and made theirs hold 3-6 cups. I still prefer my single due to the size and storage of it. I wouldn't change much on it that I can think of. There are a couple groups on facebook that im part of that others have made these and swear by it. At first I was thinking I would never use it and keep doing it the way I was doing it with thin coats. However ever I used it once I use it everytime now. Hey Ryan, Would you recommend a 9rpm or 18rpm drying motor? I found some good deals on ebay for fly fishing rod dryers. Let me know, thanks!

Since I have never used them I couldn't honestly recommend either. I know this Rotisserie does the job. I have links pinned to the top comment and in the description. Another thing to consider is the weight of the cup that the motor will have to turn.

If you are terrified of messing up, get over it. I messed 5 up 2 weeks ago. I started making these cups because I didnt have the tools to powder coat them so I had to be creative. You will be fine, you will probably mess up and thats common in anything in life. Just do it!

For 2 layered paint, I have found that it is best to sand the cup before putting your first coat of paint on. It gives it the best chance to adhere to the cup. Regular spray paint that you get from your local hardware store will work great.... if you use some sort of hobby paint, your results will vary...for these instances I usually sand then hit it with a primer base coat.... then use the hobby paint....then decal... then top coat... the base primer coat allows the second layer to adhere without pulling up when the decal is removed.

@@freebird1963 First off, I didn't get the idea of building mine from my buddy in this video, so there's THAT and I have a very busy life outside of KZbin dealing with getting my Autistic son to school and dealing with my health issues. You come off like I owe you something. I don't, so there's that. Ride someone else's coat tails. Don't be calling me out on stuff.

The link you have in the description is not a motor anyone wants to buy if they’re making a cuptisserie. I just wasted $50 on an unstable kit that isn’t the one you said you used. I should have looked more into it but I was impressed by your video I jumped and bought what you linked when it wasn’t right. Just wanted to let you know so you can change the link.

For some odd reason it must have changed since I posted this video. I would recommend using the new method these days. Its actually a lot cheaper to make. You can find that video here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnfbpXuEa9KhjKs
