What do you think about Fenty Hair? Will you be buying? Are you TIRED of celebrity hair care lines?
@Clockwork_9997 ай бұрын
Rihanna has such a great reputation in business, so if she does something like a bond treatment, heat protectant, or skinny serum, I’ll try. For everything else, I’ll stick to my usuals.
@Viviolau7 ай бұрын
Exactly! Like, girl has always put in the work and come correct. Only reason I didn’t pick up her heat protectant is cause this economy rough 🥲 But if we are judging Fenty based off how we judge any other brand (their track record vs the owner’s looks) - yea I’ll roll the dice on trying her products.
@Viviolau7 ай бұрын
So another Ytb’er made a good point. We don’t demand to see the hair of the CEOs for mainstream/usually white-owned brands. Chances are we wouldn’t be wild about the products if we based it off that. We often have that energy for black women owned brands tho. If the ingredients and products are good, it doesn’t matter what her hair looks like. And her hair being short doesn’t mean it’s unhealthy.
@tanyapollar39317 ай бұрын
I agree that’s just like all these KZbinrs are using the revair and it’s made by a white guy. But it’s meant to stretch our hair ? We have to think more critically. And if this a cash grab then EVERY brand make and sell products as a cash grab.

Hello 👋🏾! Thank for your comment. I’m the type of consumer that buys whatever is going to work and so the job I want it to do. I’ve never demanded to see any celebrities hair or whatever people do because that doesn’t matter to me, but to some people it’s like their make or break when it comes to even considering a product. And I agree that anyone who’s making products is doing it to make MONEY.
@tanyapollar39317 ай бұрын
@@CammyjOfficial I agree that’s how I do. I buy what I think that’s going help and work on my hair. It doesn’t matter whose name on the bottle. We don’t know what anyone of these hair product brands hair looks like because it’s a ridiculous statement to make. It all boils down to if you want to try it do so. And if not then don’t. But judging if it’s there hair in promotional pictures and launch party’s is insane.

@@tanyapollar3931 that’s an excellent example of exactly what I’m thinking. I don’t even know what the revair creator looks like !

Rih should use her product for 6months-1 year and take us on her healthy hair growth journey. Right now her hair is on step 1 the big chop, I can’t tell if her products are effective.

I saw the hair stylist’s comment as well. And I also saw the comment where someone said she could’ve struggled from a difference in her hair after having her children. A lot of women struggle with postpartum hair loss and then some people were just critical of the current blonde shorter style itself. She’s had longer hair before too.

Thank you for this video Cammy ! Personally I like celebrity hair care because they typically have enough youtubers review the products for me to decide wether to try them or not for my specific texture and needs. So I will try the conditionner from Fenty Hair. But come on, that stylist is not serious at all. Does he forget that a lot of people have natural hair? Never in the history of natural black hair have we applied water and shampoo to our hair and it remained bone straight, like even the looser textures will not stay that straight with water and shampoo. Like we have eyes it's a wig, or maybe her hair just somehow defies the laws of physics 🤷♀ 🤣
@CammyjOfficial7 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching! I think her hair was relaxed and she grew it out. I agree that many people review these products so you get more of a feel for if the products perform or not. I actually just reviewed FENTY haircare for myself as well.
@missluvableladii7 ай бұрын
Nah, I’m tired of these celebrity hair brands. They tend to feel like a cash grab. At least Rihanna has her entire fenty brand, so it feels more like a natural progression. But what these celebrities seem to not understand is that is you use yourself as the face of a product, then people are expecting you to align with the product’s story. It’s marketing 101. If you are not known for hair care, then it will be perceived as strange do you to market a hair care line. I totally get why people thought Rihanna’s line has wigs and bundles. That’s more what she’s known for. Same goes for white brands. Look at Ouidad or Lorraine Massey (devachan I think). They are known for curly hair and use themselves, natural curly girls, for marketing. Oleplex is known as more of a scientific formulation, so that’s their ethos. There’s no person they are trying to get the consumer to align with. And side note, let’s be real, Rihanna wore that pixie cut in the add as an appeal to all hair types, lol. BW are quick to try and claim everything made by a black person as a win for everyone when it’s more of a win for the brand/celebrity. It’s rarer nowadays to see celebrities that are community oriented. It’s easier to brand yourself as community oriented than to actually be about it.
@CammyjOfficial7 ай бұрын
Hello 👋🏾! Thank you for your in depth comment. It never clicked with me that the pixie cut was for hair inclusion purposes, but it totally makes sense. Maybe people would have thought her products were only for natural hair if she wore her real curly hair like she is now.

Ok so her and Beyoncé have close price points so I don’t want to hear it’s so much cheaper. One is backed by science and one is a popular brand. They both can win let’s not pin them against each other
@CammyjOfficial7 ай бұрын
People are going to compare them simply because they’re two celebrity brands that launched within a few short months of each other. Riri and her team also claim Fenty hair is also backed by science and that they’ve also established a proprietary blend of ingredients for Fenty hair as a whole. I feel like both brands have standing and will do well.

Even though I'm still going to try it, her stylist could've kept that to himself. Her hair is not that long, or full to shape up into the look of that wig, shrinkage, considered. I'm wondering if she isn't about to go on a natural hair care journey. She may not have all this time 🤷🏾♀️ she's got a GREAT track record, so far. It's a wait and see. The reviews are coming!!

It’s also kinda funny if black women were included in accusing her of not caring about her hair cause she’s in a wig. Like out of ANY group of people - black women specifically should understand wearing a wig/extensions doesn’t mean we don’t care deeply about our hair. Our hair is our crown and often we protect our crowns.

Uk, I see alot of the critique coming from BW, probably because, ideally, we wanted to claim Fenty hair as ours/an exclusively natural hair line (like Pattern Beauty) I think Rih was very intentional about choosing the straight pixie, to avoid FH being placed in just a "natural hair care line" box. The variety of hair types present in her promo vid and the straight + curly hair examples in the product demo pics give that away. Because yeah, weee would choose TWA Rih, but Rihanna wants her inclusivity crown and choose the "more marketable" hairstyle to signal to everyone that this is for them too. Peep the edge brush used on that 1a hair, lol. Despite how I love her desire to include, idk how well a hair line can be if its marketed to eeevery hair type. Expecting VERY mixed reviews. I wanna try the protectant tho.

I don’t get why folks are coming for her and Beyoncé when it comes to their hair and hair care lines. They wear wigs and? Did Tracee Ellis Ross and TPH get dragged like this? I mean as a consumer, I’d consider the success of her makeup line when deciding if I want to try her hair products not the hair coming from her scalp or the hair hat that she chooses rock for whatever reason. She’s rich and has her own stylist. How many of us girls wish we had our own personal stylist? 🖐🫰. So, I’m sure her personal hair care is on point. I’ve noticed that we get up in arms when companies don’t bother to make products with us in mind. Now that we have sisters out here putting their energy and money where their mouth is and are legit creating quality products that are for us by us but we are straight 💩 on them for it. Sounds like the haters are mad and jealous that they can’t do what they are doing right now. I’m here for any celeb who creates great products that we all can afford and use as long as it’s 💯 and not 🗑 . Kudos to the girls.
