In the short term get a water trough and a corn feeder going... that will help reduce water and food pressure on the cacti. It will also start training the pigs to come in for food and water to a specific location...

Joey is right about how warm the nights are in Deep South Texas. Across portions of West Texas, 60s and 70s are the normal lows during the summer and only during the hottest stretches does the low stay above 80F. Routinely, it will be above 80F in the area where Thornscrub is located. People, and plants that are not adapted, to such warm nights can struggle to survive. Bouts of humidity can also make it very tough to cool off.

The point is that those particular pigs are not native to that habitat, and because they root around in the ground for their nutrition, they cause damage that those plants are not adapted to. If left unchecked you'll end up with barren desert totally devoid of any biodiversity. By contrast there are woodlands in the UK where conservationists have deliberately reintroduced wild boar, because that same rooting activity is beneficial to that habitat. If you're interested in genuine feral humans check out the story of a British woman called Marina Chapman, who survived in the jungles of Columbia by hanging out with a troupe of vervet monkeys.
