@@FeralCabbage To absolutely min-max your stamina while swimming, hold shift, and tap W, letting the start of the sprint carry you through the water. This is not necessary in almost any circumstance, but it does let you get the most distance out of your stamina. Or a little later on you get a Cryo (ice) character for free who can freeze the water with his skill, and then you can walk on it, so if you time it right (you have a couple seconds wiggle room with him) you can cross any distance of water.

About running, swiming and gliding, the stamina bar is global for everyone in your party. The reason you think can swim further with Amber here at 9:33 is beacuse the characters height and body-type plays a role when moving around, for example, tall man bodytype(like Kaeya) run more distance that others, tall woman swim longer distance per stamina spent(normal swim, not dash), kids take longer time when running but have higher jumping power when climbing and somewhat fall slower when gliding(not sure about this one). So the very average for everything is the teen male body-type like Bennett. Another thing regarding stamina, sprinting when running/swimming and jumping when climbing will obviusly drain your stamina way faster than if you dont, so be careful 👍👍

You can increase your stamina by leveling up the Statues of the Seven, which need Oculus. And to consume less stamina while swimming, u should swim slower, or better said, swim without pressing the sprint button

Also, there is 1 oculus of each type too much so when you maxed the statue there is 1 more you can find. This is to fill your inventory and can be considered a trophy that you found all.

Most enemy entries youll get as you play animals can be a bit trickier because you need to interact with (kill, scare or catch) an animal to log it. (Yep its me from your last vid. The complitionist account lol.) Also you said about everything having lore and thats true. In the archive theres a section for books you collect in game that you can read. All genshin lore enthusiasts know the one, VERY important book you can get later on tho. (y'all know the one) But all books hold lore and allegories, that contribute important background information to the story. The artifacts also have some important lore. Leveling up the statues in Monstadt and Liyue helps your stamina go up, leveling up characters ups their heath and attack. Wait until you get kaeya and you can ice bridge with "E" on water to get places. You get artifacts from domains and chests, when equipping a certain set in all the slots gives you a character boost.

here's a tip! go to a statue of the seven ans select "statue's blessing". if you set it to 100% it will heal you back to full hp every time you teleport to it. you gotta be really close to it tho. loving these genshin vids btw! i definetely look forward to more!

Glad you’ve discovered the mob archive thing that’s such an underused and under appreciated mechanic! In that menu you can press the magnifying glass to read about the mob, and there’s even a number at the bottom that shows you how many of that mob you’ve killed! At AR56, I’ve killed the Hilichurl Fighter mob over two thousand times. I love games that give information like that

As for the chest, you use up less stamina by NOT sprinting as you swim, plus there's a submerged rock you can stand and regain stamina on between the beach and the big rock that has the chest hidden behind it. If you can't seem to grab the chest by just swimming slowly, try swimming to the rock you can stand on and then swim to the chest with fully regained stamina!

@@FeralCabbage if you don't have the patience for that, a neat trick is to repeatedly tap the forward key while you hold down sprint while swimming, stamina depletes much more slowly but you swim much faster than you would without sprinting. The idea is to let the momentum you get from sprint-swimming carry you forward some of the time instead of sprint-swimming all of the time, since you don't slow down immediately but you do stop consuming stamina immediately. great videos, I can't wait for you to see what else genshin has to offer, mondstadt really is just the tip of the iceberg

I don't want to spoil too much for you but if you're curious about the playable characters in game like Venti, Albedo, and Sucrose you can find a complete list of them in the character archive next to the regular archive for animals and enemies. It'd be interesting to see you go through and react to them/ tell us what you’ve heard about each character! You’ll probably learn how to get new characters in the next episode, so I won’t bother you about it, but it’s important to check your in-game mail for rewards. You should have some, but it can expire. A last piece of advice is that Statues of the Seven can heal and revive your characters, so you don’t have to constantly use food; it’s better to save food for when there’s no statue nearby. Just standing next to it should do the trick but if you need more healing you can click on the statue and select statue’s blessing for better control. Overall, I’ve been loving your videos so far; it's so cool to watch someone both new to Genshin but also not completely blind to it!

The reason so many people don't like Amber is because her damage is comparatively low. But she _is_ the first to help us looking for our lost sibling. That early in the game, she's our only Pyro character, so the only one who can light stuff on fire. She quickly gets replaced, though, by Fischl, Ganyu, or later Yoimiya (she's the only one out of them who's also Pyro, and she came out on Amber's birthday). Lyney, the new 5-star, is also a 5-star Pyro Archer. Poor Amber just keeps getting replaced. She's a sweetie though. Please note that you can heal your characters at any Statue of the Seven. And sadly no, we can't pet the animals. No matter how much we ask for them. Since launch.

You can find Oculus (anemoculus in Mondstad, geoculus in Liyue, etc) by walking around the map (kinda), if you get close to one the appear on the map as little stars, you need a certain amount to level up a statue

Your determination to get to that chest is commendable! As others said - swim slowly. Same applies to climbing. Level up the statues to increase stamina. Some characters have special skills that will improve stamina consumption - for example Beidou improves stamina when swimming. There is also food which slows down consumption of stamina or replenishes it. Not yet though! Super fun video.

That being said there are some things that you need to know early, because sadly, because of the way the game is designed some things are never really explained to you. Important things, like how you should save your materials and stuff. Before you get into it tho, I suggest not listening to other peoples "Wishlist" on Characters, and only get the characters that you actually really like, it is extremely easy to beat all of games content with any kind of characters, so just enjoy it and get the chars you like.

Your real joy from first-time experience is so great to see! 00:37 not exactly. As name implies, it's an archive for MOST things (some are still only readable from your inventory), but basically you can read most of the descriptions and lore in there. For example, in the living beings menu, you can press on the magnifying glass button at the top right to get a better view of the models by rotating them and also get small descriptions on the top left. I would recommend to play around by pressing everything there, bc different pages (living beings, materials, equipment, geography etc.) have their own difference in use but it should be easy to understand and use. Some living beings have book button under the magnifying glass one, those are for tutorials about those things/beings. 03:55 To put it very simply for now, elements are immune to each other (so you can't dmg pyro slime with pyro attacks) and elements can interact with each other to create different reactions (there are a lot, and you should open up a domain later on that teaches you most of them, so i think this is enough for now) 06:15 While not the needed island, you should remember it for the future 12:45 This reminded me something i forgot to mention under last video about lore: there are multiple language scripts in genshin that are translatable into english one way or another. Mondstadt uses common Teyvat script which also appears a bit in other places, and all the other nations have their own language scripts (tho liyue seems to have just a version of chinese symbols). You can check out Language page on the genshin fandom wiki, but for example, you can see text over the Wagner's shop or a bit of latin based script on the alchemy table (tho this one doesn't seem to translate to anything concrete). So just by even looking at different advertisements or stone plates or anything else, you can try to see if it has any translatable bits on it 15:30 Don't know if it was already said, but Teyvat has basically 7 nations that are based on the real live regions. Mondstadt - seems to based on Central Europe, Liyue - china, Inazuma - Japan, Sumeru - Middle east, Fontaine - seems to be western Europe but primarily France, Natlan - We're not sure yet, but seems to be mesoamerican culture like aztec or the like, and Snezhnaya - seems to be Russia, but might be more of eastern Europe. At the moment, fontaine just came out like days ago and full new nation comes out every year at about the same time. If you're interested, you can check out the Travail trailer that came out with the game. Hoyo already seemed to have had the main story planned out years in advance and trailer gives very small preview to nations without too much spoilers. 17:40 Good luck with that, it would take a while, especially if you wanna get the full context (Though i would still recommend it if you're interested). Basically, for equipment (artifacts and weapons) there are series and also their own story lines. For example: Wonderer's Troupe story line (Mondstadt related people) includes: Wonderer's Troupe artifact set (all 5 pieces have their own lore), the Widsith, the Bell, the Flute, the Stringless (those 4 are weapons) and resolution of southerner artifact set. And since 4* and 5* weapons are basically locked behind gacha or battle pass, you have to use external stuff like fandom wiki sometimes. Another problem is just sheer size: i have a google doc just for weapon and artifact lore (updated up to version 3.3 or 3.4 i think), and it's already 271 pages long (font size 14). Then there's everything else like material, quest items, books etc. So if you wanna delve into it, i would recommend just doing bit by bit instead of trying to read all at once. Like a 1-2 book series or only some specific stuff, bc it would get tiring (it took me 2 weeks to read through all the books bc some of them are 10 vol. long) Also, each character have their own profile that you only have access to if you own them, so if you want to get EVERYTHING, wiki is your friend 23:43 You indeed can, but i think story would take you there at some point either way, if you don't wanna take a detour now 37:25 The change for dialogue is to hear what responses from other people would be, bc they do change a bit, but they're rarely actually matter for story or the like 40:24 You also missed a book here, just in case 40:35 To be specific, it only spawns in 2 locations out of 14 possible ones every 12 hours. And for the second one to spawn, you have to find the first one, so it can spawn in a place you already checked today before killing the first one. 41:00 Well, Mondstadt should be the smallest city, so... : ) 41:12 Most of the time, if you think you can unlock it in any way - you can unlock it. Climbing should become the second nature for you bc there's a lot of it. Mondstadt is the most plain (geographically) nation, so get used to it. When climbing, it's slow and steady wins the race. Better of not jumping if you have to climb high and try to find footing on the way up to stand up and restore stamina. It's the same for swimming and climbing, jumping/sprinting consumes more stamina then doing it slowly 42:28 You can climb onto this statue and sit at it's finger tips to get an achievement (you have to get to the very edge for the prompt to appear) 43:32 This reminded me that Gliders too have lore in them. For example KFC glider (Yes KFC glider, it was an event thing) has lore that kinda parodies KFC in a genshin-verse. Unfortunately, it was an event exclusive item, so you can't get it anymore. There are also PlayStation exlusive wings and sword with their own lore 45:40 There's a camera function in the ESC menu on the left and, iirc, you should get a camera gadget later on that allows to make screenshots too a bit quickly but with less customization Hope you'll enjoy your travels through Teyvat even more in the future!

I advise you to set it to 100%, because the healing pool regen over time, even when you log off. So there's virtually no benefit to keep it at 70%, especially when you progress more and more into the game

The artifact sets all have names! For example The Adventure set which you equipped. This is one of the beginner sets along with some like the Traveling Doctor set. Under the names of the specific artifact like “Adventure’s bandana” you see the name of the actual set and the stats it gives you if you equip 2 pieces or 4 pieces! I hope this makes sense 😭 when I first started I didn’t understand artifacts at all so I’m trying to help but trust me when I say understanding them comes easier as you play !

You can also level them up to level up the main stat that is the big fat number on top after you click it and to gain some smaller sub stats that are randomized. But I wouldn’t suggest leveling these up cuz you could definitely get way super awesomer ones just by doing quests and stuff

Fun facts: going to the nameless island will unlock secret world quest. Once you reach AR 20+ and upgrade the Statue go to Starsnatch cliff and fly to the island. Having Amber/Venti on your team decrease gliding stamina consumption by 20%. Talking to NPC is fun. You can hear gossip and witness their secret lol 🤭. About the 'sword', you miss it. It's just besides the gate near the dock where you meet 'Hertha' and guarded by 'Guy'. Go there during the day and you will meet a child name 'Arthur'. Also if you walk near the fountain during the night, you will meet 'Anthony' the brother of 'Anna', the sick girl. Oh yes, the door with Hydro sigil at one of the home is for character story quest. You can't unlock it but I assure you that veteran players also did what you do too because we also don't know what the heck is the room at first 😂

If you need to heal your characters and still don't know how to use food, just tp one of the 7 statues and approach it. It will heal you automatically. Remember to set the statue's healing level to 100%.

Yes! That's easy to miss - you can select a dialogue option on the Statue of the Seven and tell it to heal you to full, rather than half health, whenever you visit. I think that should be the default, but who knows.

Ayo, it's hard to find a player who loves reading! I'm a major lore enthusiast myself, so it's awesome to see more fellow player who loves finding out the lore. The game puts details in EVERYTHING in the world and the various items you come across. It is not an exaggeration to say literally everything has flavor text or some lore reason one way or another, even the game mechanics. Thousands upon thousands of flavor text with lore that allude to past history, cultural stuff, and even possible futures. It truly is like learning and delving into an entire new world. i honestly never get tired of seeing new players experience genshin for the first time. no joke i even make entire personal playlists of these kinds of series. As for my other two cents on some matters. a) try not to swim fast or sprint, just try to swim/walk there slowly to conserve stamina, stamina is also increased throughout your journey by collecting and donating the oculi of each region to their statue of the seven. additionally, some characters’ passives reduce the stamina consumption of gliding/swimming/sprinting/climbing and having two anemo characters in a team together also has a similar effect. You may also want to stock up on stamina food, the ones that restore stamina and also reduce stamina consumption. b) as a chinese myself, i find it interesting how the english voice director for the game decided to make the voice actors pronounce it as Li wey rather than the correct “Li yweh” in chinese, seeing as how genshin originated from china lol c) i also love your overall enthusiasm with the game. keep it up!

I'm glad you're having such a good time. I feel like Genshin is an amazing game, so it's cool seeing someone experience it for the first time - especially after a bunch of new features were added since launch (like the Living Beings bestiary) or before characters underwent development. On the subject of teleporting - sometimes it's worth walking through areas, even if you've been there before - some story quests & events will scatter relevant characters across the world without even telling you, or you'll find chests and materials you missed previously, so you're rewarded for taking the scenic route. With Rosemary & Parsley, the The Boar Princess & Wolf Pup bit is a reference to an in-universe book you can collect. A bunch of the volumes were in the city's library, if you're really interested in lore. The Geography Snapshots also provide a short bit of lore associated with each image too. Glad you're so fond of Amber too. My friend's been playing from launch and he mains her. Your cough role-play is top-tier.

oh .. the pain, the pain. Sprint swimming takes more stamina for the same distance as slow swimming. + levelling up Statues of the Seven increases your stamina ceiling. + at some point you'll get recipes for food to revive stamina, and food to reduce stamina rate for swimming, etc. ++ it's refreshing to see a new start to the game while everyone else is going giddy at the newest released area of Teyvat.

always do archon quests first and then you can explore. because to continue with the Mondstadt quest, you need to reach adventure rank 10, use that time to do whatever you want because unlocking waypoints/ statues, opening chests, fighting enemies and doing quests can give you adventure xp. when you exit the favonius building, go straight to Katheryn (the one behind the desk when u first go into mondstadt up the first few steps) Once you've talked to her, she'll give you a hand book which is really important, one of the tabs there (can't rememebr what it's called) tells you what quests you should do first and why that's important hope that helps

I don't know if anyone else has said it but that waypoint on top of the building is much easier to get during a later story quest. Quest will put you right on the roof close by, faster and easier than climbing

Stamina increases when you offer Oculi to statues Eating food or standing near Statues gives back health I didn't specify abt elements and I don't know too much of them: Elements will be applied usually when using skills/bursts(white numbers = physical which is not an element while red = pyro, blue = anemo/hydro/cryo depending on shade, purple = electro etc.) Anemo(wind, the one traveler has) swirls other elements which makes elemental reactions stronger or reapplies elements Pyro(Fire, amber's) can react with cryo to trigger melt(dealing twice the damage), hydro to trigger vaporize(about the same damage as melt), electro for overload(pushing enemies away), dendro to trigger burning, or burgeon when coming into contact with dendro cores creating a large explosions(I'll explain dendro cores later) Cryo(Ice) can react with pyro to trigger melt(though if you apply pryo, and then cyro it does 1.5 damage instead of 2), hydro to trigger freeze(freezes enemies in place) or superconduct with electro(I only know it makes enemies less resistant to physical damage) Electro(lightning) can react with pyro in overload, cryo in superconduct, hydro in electro-charged(will shoot electricity to other enemies with hydro I think), or dendro in 4 reactions: Hyperbloom with dendro cores(making homing missiles), quicken and spread/aggravate with dendro which I will explain later under dendro Hydro(water) can react with pyro for vaporize(like melt, if you apply hydro first you will only get a 1.5 multiplier), cryo in freeze, electro in electro-charged, and dendro in bloom(creating dendro cores which can explode, I will explain a bit more in dendro) Geo(earth) can react with all elements to trigger crystallize. This creates crystals that you can pick up which can create a shield to the element you used geo with Dendro(plant) can react with pyro for burning(damage overtime), electro for quicken, then if you use electro again, aggravate. If you use dendro again after triggering quicken, you trigger spread. Dendro can also react with hydro to create dendro cores. Dendro cores explode after a few seconds and only 5 can exist at a time(if you creat more than 5, the old ones will automatically explode). You can interact with these dendro cores with other elements. Electro will cause hyperbloom which creates homing missiles. Pyro explodes the dendro cores in burgeon and creates a larger explosion. Sorry for the long comment and good luck. Don't expect to get these elements or reactions quickly.

- radiant spin crystals (the pinaple looking thing you found in the begining) are basically discs that allow you to play songs in a player housing type area, you can fursnish your own houses and gardens and stuff later in the game, its a bit like sims 4 but with a lot less freedom and these crystals are songs that play in that area - you are right there indeed is lore everywhere! and its so nice to see you excited about the lore! as lore and exploration are definetly the strong suite of this game, you can read lore from the archive section, theres lore in - books, weapon description, artifcats description (artifacts the the things you equip in the charecter screen) , weapon level up material description and charecter level up material descriptions. even basic items like some flowers and berries have lore its really baffling

I know people mentioned how there is good lore in the item descriptions, but there's also interesting lore about every character in their profiles that you might find interesting (when you unlock it) that lots of players don't seem to read. You have to own the characters and increase their friendship levels to unlock their lore though. The books are definitely worth a read too but there are loads of them so it'll take a while. I do really love lots of the NPC's in genshin. Lots of them are really interesting and endearing - especially the ones in big world quests.

Love watching new players experience this game for the first time, get excited over everything, and make all the same mistakes we did lol I love your cheerful attitude too! Excited for the next video. Tips: 1) Stamina (the energy bar you see while swimming and climbing) is not increased by leveling characters, but by leveling the statue of the seven (using the anemoculous, which you collect by having your character bump into them). 2) The chest at the beginning entry point CAN be obtained by swimming. You dont have enough stamina to make it there that way. 3) Swimming slower (and climbing slower) does use less stamina. You almost noticed that, but still couldnt make it to the chest, so you got distracted. :) 4) if you cant make it by swimming (or cant make it up a building etc. by climbing) try to find another way around. If you went farther up into the city, you could glide down to the roofs. If you climbed stormbearer mountain from the side, you could easily glide down to the chest at the start. 5) Amber isn't hated for her personality. You noticed yourself her bomb didn't do a lot of damage. Her abilities are clunky (the bomb is so slow) and her damage stat numbers are lower than most characters (simply cuz she's the first character you get and you're supposed to move on to other characters). She's likeable, just not very good long term

After you finish your current archon quest, and is about to head to Liyue you will unlock a waypoint to Fontaine where you can see future regions and collect those materials to upgrade your characters

@@FeralCabbageYou don’t but if you unlock characters from other regions you need to go to other regions for specific local goods to upgrade those character but you will probably get extremely sidetracked. The map is very big, not to mention some underground areas😅

@@FeralCabbage You can go unlock most if not all the Statues of Seven in Liyue, Sumeru, and Fonatine immediately iirc (if you're willing to do all that running and climbing and gliding in one fell swoop) (I went ahead and unlocked every single waypoint and SoS in Liyue out of a want to explore before doing its Archon Quest when I first played hahahahahaha) Completing Mondstadt's Archon Quest just unlocks the waypoint at the border of Sumeru and Fontiane bc Fontaine would be too far from Mondstadt. Inazuma is locked behind its own Archon Quest that you need to finish Liyue's first and then reach a certain AR (I forgot what AR it was sorry). It's either that or resort to glitches, so any character you get that needs Inazuman specialties to ascend/level up will be locked at like lvl 20 or 40 for a while (I experienced this with a character that is now one of my main DPSes he was so low-levelled for so long DX Heizou, my low-levelled punchy detective king)

You can go straight to Liyue right now if you wanna, I'm pretty sure cuz I accidentally did Xiangling's story quest around this point in the story and I had to collect Liyue stuff. What completing Mond's quest does is give you a teleport waypoint ALL the way to the edge of Sumeru in case you want to skip straight to Fontaine exploration at any point.

Just a tip i wanted to give Every character except the traveler has a talent that can be viewed in the talent section of the character (where u can level up ur character and all) You got a wind glider so keep amber in ur party as she has talent of being the best windglider, so when u windglide with her, the stamina depletes slower and its not necessary to equip her, unless she is in ur party, her talent will work. To take a screenshot, go to the paimon menu and on the left side, there are a few buttons and one of the buttons has a camera logo on it, u can take a picture with it but in future quests, you will receive a camera which will take a photo within a click of a button.

Well, for sure it would be helpful for you to look closely through the characters menu off recording and see what it has tl offer. Leveling up character with training mateirals will increase their basic stats, while enhancing weapons will increase your damage, as well as enhancing your artifacts will make your character overall stronger. Cant wait for more Genshin impact:)
