the part i dont get is that if this was a murder from any side, why kill him 2 years after he planted the first version of stuxnet, that apparently didnt fire and thus was not detected. dosent make sense for the cia as even if he was a (potential) leak, killing him 2 years later does not shut him up. as for iran the virus he planted again did not fire, so caused no damages, no detection and most likely, irans intelegence was not aware of his connections to a sabotage action either unless he had been turned, in that case it also makes no sense to then kill him.

The reality is probably that the guy was extracted. His fake identity burnt and him given a new one. His fake persona died in that accident to protect him. Once this exploit is discovered, which they knew it would eventually, eventually they would start looking for the guy who acquired and installed the pumps that injected the malware. I don't think they had him killed, considering how vastly useful he turned out to be.

Great informative video about one of the greatest security breaches of all time that has set the stage today for Zeroday vulnerabilities... My only criticism is there is a huge part of the story and part of how they infected the Air sealed facility that was totally disconnected from the internet was in fact, USB drives carrying the sleeping giant on board and spreading it internally... This story is also part of the reason today so many places with security measures on thier computer systems FORBID plugging in any unauthorized thumb drives...
