I've always been a fan of Fernando... big big... him and Zab Judah where my main guys. I was that guy when they took their first losses I was depressed for them. But seeing this guy raise his kids the way he does... it's just inspiring in a different level. Forerver a Vargas Fan. Hope my kids view me this way too at some point.

Emincheko’s maturity is dope. Him checking Amado on the slight aggressiveness about one having to know how to fight and Emiliano tapping him to cut it off. Second, respect Amados reaction and not arguing it with a nasty look. The maturity and level of respect between eachother. Fernando Vargas Sr. And momma bear did good work.

Fernando I went to Channel Islands High School and was at school when you came home from the Olympics and came through the school and your swag somehow rubbed off on me and inspired me to learn to throw hands. Being one of few whiteboys at CIHS and in my hood I always had some battle at hand and learned how to handle myself because of you…. I never was able to take it to a competitive level but I am proud to say I’ve defended myself and my friends and my wife etc. successfully every single time since that day. I’m also proud to say that I’ve never started a fight but am always prepared to finish them. Also shout out to your little brother whom I had an art class with. He was damn proud of you. I wish nothing but the best for you and yours Champ!

I remember Fernando sr fighting at the golden gloves in Southern California he was fighting a strong older black fighter and when the other guy was getting ready hitting the mitts the sound of the punches sounded like high caliber gun shots!really scary but Fernando got in there and stop this stronger and older fighter,left me like wow
